The engineering behind the pop-ups in this grade school encyclopedia are amazing. This also makes the pop-ups themselves amazing. On nearly every page, a Jaws-like creature jumps off the page at you. It is this aspect of the book that makes it most appealing to younger children, because the text itself is full of complex information. I would consider not letting this book circulate, since the illustrations are fragile and will wear quickly through repeated use, making the book somewhat less ... amazing.

Sabuda is the master of pop up books. Great engineering of the illustrations. Very informative but done in an interesting way.

I wonder how much a book like this cost? I'm gonna look it up on google right now. it says 27.99 at toys or us. Thats managable i guess, for a birthday gift or christmass gift. The pop outs are worth it. very textured, and they move in all directions!

My copy was received much later than promised from BN. The conditon was very bad. Although properly shrink wrapped my copy has pages that do not pop up; sections are not glued; and are improperly folded. This is unacceptable. Someone needs to look at quality control!!

This encyclodedia prepares kids, who inherently like dinosaurs anyway, for a learning experience that they will never forget, and love. It tells all about the early stage of the world when dinosaurs ruled as well as much, much more information.
