My son is so proud of his reading skills. He loves to show them off to me every chance he gets. He is in French Immersion at school and is learning to read English all on his own. The “5 Minute Bible” is the perfect book for him to practice his reading while growing in his faith. The “5 Minute Bible” by Stephen Elkins takes your child on a journey through 100 Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments. Each story has a title that helps describe the story. My son doesn’t read the book from cover to cover, instead chooses the stories that he wants to read based on the title. Below that is the related scripture. I love that this is included. If my son is interested in digging deeper into the story, he can look it up in his children’s bible. At the bottom of each story are some points to ponder in what we call a “thought cloud” and are amazing conversation starters. Bedtime is an amazing time to have those heart to heart conversations with your little one. These statements help you share your own faith story with your child. Finally at the end of each story is a simple song. I am familiar with many of the songs, and it is fun to share these with my son. Many of them I have forgotten over the years and this has refreshed them in my memory. For the songs that I don’t know, I was able to look most of them up on Spotify and youTube. An included CD or download link would have made this book even better. My son enjoys reading these stories to me. They are short enough for him to be able to read in a sitting and use vocabulary that is suitable for primary age students. When I read these stories to him, I find he is looking for something with a little more depth. The font choice for this book is perfect for young readers. With the exception of the title of each story, the font is large and easy to read. I like that they have chosen to use a large amount of white space around the text on each page as this makes it less intimidating for young readers. The “5 Minute Bible” is a wonderful book to share with your child. It shows the amazing love that God has for us and how he has shown it to us throughout history. Filled with scripture references, points to ponder and beautiful illustrations, the “5 Minute Bible” will help your child grow in faith and love for God. *Disclosure: I received a complimentary “5 Minute Bible” from Booklook Bloggers in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.

I absolutely LOVE this sweet Bible! Literally each story will take about 5 minutes to read, short and sweet, but chock full of Biblical wisdom to little minds and hearts! Each story includes a short synopsis of a Bible story, an application for little minds, and a song that goes along with the story. For example: the story about Job talks through what happened to him, but ends with the application that, "we should praise the Lord in good times and bad. Job praised the Lord, even in bad times. I will praise the Lord all the time!" Then it ends with the song "God is So Good." It's a great book, and I absolutely love that it includes a song with each story!

As my son grows away from the toddler years and into the preschool ones, I have been on the lookout for a few new story Bibles for him. I was intrigued when I saw this one by author Stephen Elkins entitled, 5 Minute Bible: 100 Stories and Songs. I was really pleased with this book! It includes a wide range of Bible stories, which has been a nice change from just the typical ones I tend to see in most story Bibles. Each Bible story is a nice length for preschoolers, and I loved the life application points at the end of each one. A unique feature is that each story is also paired with a song, and we've had fun singing the songs together each night. Thankfully I know most of them, but we've had to look a few up on Youtube too, much to my son's delight. Overall, we are enjoying using this Bible during our nightly bedtime routine, and I am happy to recommend it to other. We recently started reading the 5 Minute Bible: 100 Stories & 100 Songs by Stephen Elkins. It's been a great devotional for us to do together. I wanted to do a devotional together as we're starting some new back to school routines and this one is perfect. I love the set up of each page - Bible story, verse and passage, picture, big idea and song. The book is written just for kids and has been the perfect devotional for us to do together. The devotionals starts with Genesis and ends with Revelation. I am not very musical so I appreciate the songs paired with the stories and my kids have a lot of fun learning the stories together. We will definitely keep doing this devotional. I love that it gives the Bible passage that each story comes from so that older kids or parents could easily open up their Bible and keep reading. This book is a great devotional for little ones. I think it could be great to keep in the car to do while you're waiting, to do over breakfast or to do at bedtime. The size of the book is great - it's larger than most devotionals. I love that it's a hardback book and that the pictures are easy for many kids to see. We love this book!
