—Patricia Potter, bestselling author of The Diamond King

Let Donna Fletcher carry you back to the Scottish Highlands with A Warrior’s Promise, the third book in her phenomenal Warrior King series about four brave champions destined to return the legendary king to his throne. No one does Scottish historical romance better than Donna Fletcher, as this breathtaking tale further proves. The story of a fearless young beauty determined to rescue her father from imprisonment by the false king—and of the fierce, achingly attractive warrior she joins forces with and soon discovers she cannot resist—A Warrior’s Promise captures all the passion and magic of Scotland, and all the heat and fire of love unbound, in a manner that Fletcher’s wildly devoted, ever-growing audience simply will not be able to resist.

About the Author

Part of the fun in writing, Donna Fletcher admits, is doing the research. But it is with her characters that she has the most fun. She loves giving life to fresh characters and feels their excitement as they face the pleasures and pitfalls of falling in love.

Donna's own adventures have taken her to England, Ireland, and Scotland. She has walked the fields where battles were fought centuries ago, toured haunted castles, stood where beheadings were commonplace, explored the mystic mounds of long ago, and collected a plethora of memories and research that will live long in her heart and mind. She also loves exploring and photographing old abandoned homes, and she often takes long walks in the woods with camera in hand. She feels her life is rich and full, having three terrific sons, two fantastic daughters-in-law, an endless supply of friends, a loving dog, and a crazy, black, one-eyed cat named Bear.

You need to know if there is another book after this one. Putting book one or part one would be beneficial. I love reading books in sequence. I HATE reading books out of sequence.

Although the premise is unlikely, the characters make you enjoy the story. I went back and read the previous two titles, which is the highest compliment.

This was by far the worst book of the series. I loved the first two but this one was very disappointing. I couldn't stand charlotte. She was too boyish for me and the ending was so rushed. The whole book is trying to find her da and then it ends so quickky. I loved Bryce but the book left some unanswered questions which i hope to be answered in the next book. I will read the next one because i really like Bliss and the Picts. And, Mrs. Fletcher is one of my favorite authors.

This book is wonderful only because it is so classic. The beginning plot you have seen a million times, BUT Donna Fletcher introduces it in a NEW and FUNNY way. Out of the series this one is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. A definite MUST READ

I have to say that i loved charlotte in this book. She reminded me of those acrobatic like runners that can cruise through cityscapes running up buildings, soooo quick and agile!!! Honest i couldnt wait for the next stupid move she would make, but then, ya get to know her heart and true talent and find, shes not stupid at all, but brave, and a defender to the weak. If you watched "the prince of persia" movie and saw how jake gyllenhal MOVED, you will better understand what talents charlotte has. Loved their relationship and recognized the fear in bryce to speak of the love he really feels while charlotte tells him exactly what he feels completely accepting that he cant speak it himself. This is the PERFECT woman for bryce! Sometimes i find a bit much of the redundancy in the explaining of the obstacles in these highlander series books that donna fletcher has written. But if you skip any of them, you have missed something special because each one has its own specialness. And i think donna counters that well with giving us much more "happy ending" reading that a lot of other writers give. Shes generous with the happy-ending-life. So i wouldnt discount any the books as being "blahblahblahget on with it" like ive read in some reviews. This is the 3rd, and with all the whiny reviews that i read about the 2nd one, if i had listened to them and not read it learning about the fighting prowess of the brother reeve i would NEVER have been able to laugh out loud hysterically in this book when itsy bitsy charlotte FLATTENS him!!!! What a great moment in the book! Lots of great moments in these books, ive laughed out loud so many times over the brothers threats to each other i cant count em!!! LOL cant wait for the 4th one...we will finally see who emerges as the TRUE KING OF SCOTLAND! Keep up the wonderful work donna!

A Wicked Road to Hell by Juliana StoneAs a first novel in a new series, I felt that even though I had never read this author, why would I have any problems---new series right? Wrong. Ms Stone has incorporated many characters from her past books and just expanded on them and gave Ana a Vampire her ¿own¿ story. I feel that if you are going to enjoy this novel you must have some understanding of the past ones. I didn¿t have that understanding of the past so therefore I did not enjoy this book at all.Another problem I had is the fact that the characters do a lot of inner dialoguing; there is not much conversation between Declan (the main male love interest and a sorcerer) and Ana (female love interest-Vampire) to back up whatever is going on with them. They just think they know what is best for the other. The level of angst they both carry around and the self-recrimination they both had went beyond the pale and into the realm of annoying. I found myself more than one rolling my eyes at these two supposed mature adults. The fact that this book is filled with all sorts of otherworldly creatures is fascinating. And give the idea that a powerful Demon along with the Seraph, Sorcerers, shape-changers, Vampires etc, could all work together to keep things on an even keel between worlds is a fairly novel one.If you are not new to this author and have read her other series in which some of these characters have been introduced, and you have no problems with her past works, then this will most likely be a book you love. However, if you are like me and never read anything by Ms Stone, then I would be cautious and make sure you have plenty of patience. As I said, it IS the first in a new series so perhaps other readers will find no problems with this book.

I recommend that you read from the first book to the fourth, otherwise you will miss key points. This was a great read...I really enjoy how the heroine pretended to be a boy....and she tricked her Highland Warrior.
