Overview

Canine Addison's disease is a serious and often fatal illness. When Stephanie Kenrose's dog, Shakti-Holly, was diagnosed with the disease in 2008, she found that accurate information was difficult to come by; she embarked on a lengthy research project to understand the disease. Not content with merely improving the quality of life of her own pet, Stephanie documented her findings in this practical and comprehensive guide so that other owners of Addison's dogs can benefit from her experience and knowledge.

I think that the book was written with good intentions. My dog was just recently diagnosed with Addison's after a year of problems and other diagnoses. This book does explian some of what is involved in caring for a dog with Addison's, but I was able to find more information from looking online. Not worth the $14 especially since it's not even 30 pages. I was disappointed when I got it.

This book was extremely helpful when I found out my Jack Russell has Addison's Disease. She was on her death bed when I read this book. I had my vet change her medication to Flourinef, a high protein diet and supplement of Milk Thistle for her liver which was being destroyed by Prednisone. She's a totally different dog now! Thank you for this very helpful information.

She cuts the fluff and gets straight to the point--absolutely invaluable for anyone with an Addison's dog. Kenrose explains the medical terms in plain English so that you can be fully informed about the disease. An invaluable little book!

After reading a chapter "Causes" I said O' God I never care for my "Naughty" in such a way, thanks to the S. Kenrose I'll take care of my Naughty much better now, I'll also gift this book to my aunt who is crazy about her pets. Very Informative, illustrative, also tells you about major causes of Addison's disease. Must have if you really care for your pet.
