by Brandy

Brandy has always admired tabloid queen and fellow pop idol Jennifer Lopez. And on her fourth disc, the onetime teen sensation of TV's Moesha fame heads into J. Lo territory by hiring -- and then firing -- La Lopez's former manager Benny Medina, dissolving her short-lived marriage, and adopting a sexier image and an edgier sound. On the cover of her fourth disc, Afrodisiac, Brandy strikes a seductive pose in an attempt to shed her goody-goody image, but it's the music that makes the most dramatic impression. Stepping in for longtime collaborator Rodney Jerkins -- who perfected his signature, stuttered beat wizardry on Brandy's memorable Never Say Never -- are masterful tunesmiths Kayne West and Timbaland, who give the disc a fresh, decidedly mature sound. On the orchestral, disco-reminiscent lead single, "Talk About Our Love," featuring and produced by West, the 25-year-old flexes her impressive upper register as she sings about the stress of living in the celebrity fishbowl. Even more impressive is the Timbaland thumper, "I Tried," which recalls his work with Justin Timberlake and incorporates lyrics from Coldplay's "Sparks" and an Iron Maiden sample. The tempo slows on the breezy, West-penned "Where You Wanna Be," before Timbaland kicks things up a notch with the new jack swing, old school hip-hop-inspired jam "Turn It Up." Throughout, Brandy's husky vocals sparkle -- and, as Usher did on 2004's multi-platinum Confessions, she offers insight into her personal life through the lyrics. "Who I Am" is a thank-you letter to her former husband, to whom Brandy offers: "Look how I smile/ All you did was help the next man/ 'Cause this experience made me who I am." And on the closing track, "Should I Go," she ponders walking away from the cookie-cutter music industry. But for the sake of her fans, who will surely be hooked on Afrodisiac, let's hope she reconsiders.

Well what would you expect, Its Brandy AKA B-Rocka! She's back and hit the scene hard with the smash hit "Talk About Our Love" with the cutie with a Luie(Vitton that is) Kanye West, who produced other tracks on the album that are to die for like "Where You Wanna Be" featuring T.I. (Mr. Rubberband Man) which is my all time favorite song on the album! I give this 5 stars because its what we've been waiting for since "Never Say Never" (Lets face it "Full Moon" didn't even live up to MY expectations, which would've only earned it 3 stars) Anyhoo, This album is definately worth it I encourage every single Brandy fan to support her, go and buy the album and post your very own review on it, I wont say I told you so!

Brandy opens with a track that explains it all and it has a hot beat. The title track is a great up tempo joint and is follwed by a few more. She features TI on one of the tracks and it's simply great. For someone who hates buying CDs because maybe one track is hot, this was well worth the money. I'm definitely happy and it is definitely paralleled to Usher's Confessions. She gets real and I love it. Her progression in life as a woman, mother, and songstress is truly evident on this one.

This album is such a wonderful one. Brandy's amazing talents show when she releases an album, and when she preforms. She has done an outstanding job putting this album together, she has me listening to it all day, non-stop! All I'm trying to say is that Brandy is a great artist and you should buy her album! So, what are you still doing here? Go out and buy it!

This Album is one of Brandy's best! She has really grown as an artist. After taking some time off I think she came back really, really nice! Putting together an album with 5 or more hits isn't so easy!

Brandy has out done herself this time. This album is the shiznit it is definitely grammy material. The songs "Who is she 2 you" and "Where you wanna be" are gauranteed No. 1 hits. "Say you will" and "Should I" show off B-Rock's exceptionally sexy and sultry, raspy, always beautiful voice. Best of '04 period.

Brandy has grown up and it shows. This classy singer always stays true to herself and appropriate to her age. She is an exceptional vocalist and I am always pleased with every CD she makes. The beats on this album are hot and Brandy is not afraid to branch out and sample artists like Cold Play on this album. It's the best one yet.

I have been a Brandy fan since she came out in 1994. It is so refreshing to see how effortlessly she matures with each album. This album is by far the best ( and I love every one!) Her mix of ballads and dance beats has brought this album to a higher level. She's doing her thing and this album is definitely worth buying! Brilliant!

In her 4th album, brandy has done it again... given loyal long time fans and newcomers a album that share's all of who she is. Afrodisiac, is laced with HOT-TO-DEATH lyrics that we can all relate to and beats that will make you fell like dancing, crying or givin' up a simple, "I feel you girl!" the album is a must have 4 the summer and in no way, will dissappoint you. I am not one of her staff, and i did not get paid for this, I'm a lifetime member of her ever growing fan team(I'm her #1 fan), and i think the world should hear but more importantly, feel her music. GO GET IT!!!

Brandy is back again with an album that is guaranteed to knock your socks off. The album is certified platinum and then some with the genius of such producers as Kanye West and Timbaland. She brings so much heart and soul into this new album. Brandy continues to show how talented and skilled a singer she really is. Brandy pours her heart into such songs as Who I Am and Who Is She 2 U, where she shares her relationship experiences. She even has cuts that are guaranteed to make you want to dance(Sadiddy and turn it up). This album is definitely one that all can relate to and that reaches the inner soul of everyone who has experienced a bad relationship. She even sings about her new found love in Afrodisiac. So she sings about a relationship that went bad, but now she is happy because she can love again. This is definitely an album to add to the Library. Welcome back Brandy, we missed you.

I have always loved Brandy. She has such an oiriginal style that from album to album, only gets better. Afrodisiac follows this pattern. Her soulfull ballads let you know that she truly has grown up. She is a mother, was a wife, and all of that comes through on her new cd. It is truly an Afrodisiac.

Brandy's CD "Afrodisiac" is an true insight on brandy's life learned lessons! She truly opens up shows her struggle with womanhood up close and personal. The album opens up with a number talking about her life (trackname:Who I Am). With the bulk of the album produced by Timberland, her album is loaded with classical music. Some of Timberland's stand out tracks include "Should I Go", "Afrodisiac", "Who Is She 2 U" and "I Tried". Kanye West who produced her first hit song off the album "Talk About Our Love" also offers something. The Kanye West track is called " Where You Wanna Be" featuring T.I. Other songs that stand out on this CD is are "Necessary","Say You Will" and "Finally I Walked Away". Trust me costumers, you will not be disappointed! So take a ride with Brandy and exprience the emotional waves of her life!
