Overview

Alice was a well respected investigator on the Seattle Police Department when she made a promise to protect the son of the only man she ever loved. She didn't know keeping it would lead to murder.

When the time came, the question wasn't if she would kill, but how. Weaving her personal agenda into an on-going search for a serial killer would be a challenge. One mistake, one overlooked detail could bring everything crashing down upon her.

Before long, her plan, like her life, began to unravel. Keeping it together meant thinking like a serial killer without becoming one.

About the Author

After focusing on technical and historical writing, Richard moved to Florida and turned his attention to writing novels, taking his passion for history with him. All his novels are based on real events and real persons—their good and their bad. His novels can best be described by a comment made during his introduction at a North Florida Writer’s Conference. “Don’t expect the same old cookie cutter novel with a different name and a new twist at the end. Expect real people in real situations, with real talents and real shortcomings.”

His novels include:
VALLEY OF THE ANCIENTS - The heroine must let go of a dream that can never come true, and the hero must face a ghost from his past when the Japanese attack Dutch Harbor, Alaska during the Second World War.

DEADLY INVITATION - The lead character doesn’t know that a party invitation from his estranged daughter is part of a complicated plot that will put both their lives at risk. The return of a lover from his past makes matters even more complicated.

ALICE UNRAVELED - The heroine is a Washington State detective who must kill a friend to keep a promise she made to the only man she ever loved. When the time comes, the question isn’t if she will do it, but how she will do it.

PRAIRIE GIRLS - Based on Emily Middleton’s diary of 1865, the story tells the perils of her overland trip from New Orleans to Dallas accompanied by four women and a newly freed man at the close of the Civil War.

CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES WISELY – The hero can not seem to find sanity until he enters the insanity of war. He learns that everyone defines their own reality, and he has to define his. He learns that some battles have to be fought and some we can choose not to fight...and the wise man knows the difference.

FOR YOUR LOVE – (To be completed in January 2012) A man in the last chapter of his life hopes to build a relationship with his alcoholic daughter, but the past has to be resolved before they can move forward.
