Unless you've ever been shunned by the religious community you were once a part of, you simply cannot understand what it's like. Your friends abandon you and your family won't talk to you. Those that violate the rules by staying in touch often think they're doing something wrong, or they still view you as "spiritually damaged" for daring to disagree with the Church. Bethany Leger has been there, so she is in a unique position to help others in the same situation come to grips with their circumstances and start to heal. If you've been shunned you'll immediately relate to pretty much everything she has to say. The exercises she has you work through will help you see your situation in a new light and start the process of moving forward out of grief. I highly recommend this workbook to anyone who finds themselves in that inhumane, unloving situation the Church hypocritically practices will claiming they believe that "God is love" (1 John 4:8).
