Sunshine, Idaho, is a small and sunny town-the perfect home for man and beast. Well, maybe not for man, as pilot-for-hire Brady Miller discovers when his truck is rear-ended by what appears to be Noah's Ark.As the co-owner of the town's only kennel, Lilah Young has good reason to be distracted behind the wheel-there are puppies, a piglet, and a duck in her Jeep. But she doesn't find it hard to focus on the sexy, gorgeous stranger she's collided with.Lilah has lived in Sunshine all her life, and though Brady is just passing through, he has her abandoning her instincts and giving in to a primal desire. It's Brady's nature to resist being tied down, but there's something about Lilah and her menagerie-both animal and human-that keeps him coming back for more.

Jill Shalvis delivers another spectacular story in Animal Magnetism. Brady Miller is drawn home by his foster brothers to Sunshine, Idaho. Brady is a pilot for hire and his brothers need him to fix up a helicopter for their animal clinic. Brady hasn't been home in years, his life has been one of flying for those that need his services rather it was his country or medical services. He agrees to be in town for one month then will take the next job he is offered. Brady is barely back home when he is literally run into by Lilah Young the local kennel owner. Lilah Young, can't believe she runs her jeep into hot and sexy Brady Miller. She was distracted by her menagerie but Lilah really gets distracted by Brady. Lilah is used to going it on her own and just doesn't know how to handle this handsome mans frequent offers of help. She is even more flustered by the attraction that sparks between them. Lilah tries to convince herself and Brady she can be a temporary kind of girl. What starts out as a temporary fling for them both turns into something magical. Will Lilah be able to let Brady go when its time or will Brady decide to stay with the one woman who understands the real him. Animal Magnetism is a funny, poignant and sexy story. Brady and Lilah interaction is just fabulous. The emotional journey they both travel through will touch your heart. Their chemistry is at times sweet and others delightfully sexy and spicy. In my opinion you can't go wrong in picking up a Jill Shalvis book. Its what a wonderful romance book should always be.

I read this on the recommendatipn of friends- and they were right. Of course, I love animals and the idea of a trilogy set around them is great. Jill has great character development, and you are intrigued and rooting for them from page 1. Have already read thenext in the series and can't wait for the next one.

In Sunshine, Idaho animal kennel worker Lilah Young believes she will never meet her forever. That is until she backs her animal filled jeep into his parked truck as he watches the fender bender. The owner is a visiting hunk Brady Miller. They are instantly attracted to one another. A pilot and photographer, just out of the military service, Brady is in Sunshine helping his foster brothers Dell and Adam. He and Lilah agree to a fling while he is in town; both understand once he leaves, their tryst ends. However, their lust grows stronger as they fall in love, but neither is confident enough to offer a change to the original rules of engagement. There is plenty of sunshine and a few flaws in this fun contemporary romance. Whereas Lilah has begun to believe she is the anti-male stay magnet, Brady knows his reputation even with his two BFFs is that of Dr. Death. The story line is extremely linear, but the fun is walking and flying with the lead couple and their buddies (animals included) as love is everywhere the reader goes in Sunshine, Idaho. I REALLY enjoyed this! ANIMAL MAGNETISM is the perfect blend of wit and charm with plenty of face fanning romance. If you love animals and have a soft spot for swoon worthy heroes, then be sure to check this one out. This was my first Jill Shalvis book but it won't be my last!

Another great romance by Jill Shalvis, highly recommend. I wasn't even halfway through the book when I started wishing for sequels! If the hunky men working with animals isn't enough to draw you in, Jill Shalvis writes great, witty dialogue. As much as I enjoyed the relationships beetween Brady/Lilah and Brady/Dell/Adam, I absolutely loved Brady's interactions with Twinkles! Hint: Front cover of the book. I can't wait to read about Dell & Jade.

First Jill Shalvis book I read and wasn't disappointed. Great, funny characters. Great feel good book. Brady and Lilah make a fine couple. Hot and not trashy, well written romance. Can't wait for Dell's story!

This was a terrific story about Lilah Young, the co-owner of the town kennel (and animal rescue), who is used to doing things on her own. She's not looking for anything permanent, so when Brady Miller comes to town, it's the perfect opportunity to have some fun for a month. Their chemistry is off the charts, but the closer they get, the harder it is to keep their feelings from developing. A steamy romance, with witty banter and rescue animals - I've found my new favorite series!

This is another solid contemporary romance from one of my favourite authors. With Jill Shalvis you know you¿re going to get quirky characters, a lot of humour, a steamy relationship and a happy ending everyone has to work hard for. Animal Magnetism is not my favourite Shalvis book, but I enjoyed it a lot. Lilah comes from a pretty crappy past, and she¿s now working her butt off with animals while also studying for her degree through the night. She lives in small town Idaho, under the protective eye of her friends who run a veterinary service. Brady has been off in the world, working as a pilot in dangerous countries, and returns home for the first time in a long time. On his first morning there, a tired Lilah with a Jeep full of animals accidentally drives into his car. And things go from there. I love Shalvis¿ writing style and there isn¿t anything she¿s written that I disliked. Both of our leads in this one go into their relationship with a time limit on it. Brady is taking off in the world again soon, and Lilah has no plans to give another long term relationship a go. I liked these two together as a couple ¿ from when they first meet and Brady wants to help Lilah out because he¿s pretty sure she¿s homeless (she¿s not), to later in the book where Lilah ends up an injured (and grumpy) patient. There¿re so many animals in this book and you¿re going to know most of them by name and personality. Shalvis does an excellent job writing the animals too. However I must admit I¿m not as interested in this as many readers will be. I¿m not really an animal person (don¿t hate them, but also never have anything to do with them), so some of their quirks were completely lost on me. The times there were a dozen creatures in the room I wasn¿t thinking about how cute they were as much as how much it must stink! This book was great fun and featured some great characters. What stopped it from being a five star read for me (and many of this author¿s books are) was that it didn¿t have anything in particular that made it special enough. Unlike the author¿s other recent release I read (Simply Irresistible), it¿s not going to make it onto my favourites shelf. Even so, it¿s definitely worth a read.

This was a sweet romance with touches of humor. Brady is the loner who actually has more ties than he realizes. When he comes to Sunshine to visit his foster brothers, he plans to get in and out quickly. But Lilah and a cute little dog named Twinkles have other plans. At least, Lilah would have other plans if she wasn't so busy trying to keep ahead financially, run her kennel, and go to school. She doesn't have time for any emotional entanglements. And especially doesn't want to become emotionally entangled with someone who plans to leave. These two reluctant lovers haven't taken into account the chemistry between them. Both have to push past their fears to find out what they really want. Brady is a perfect hunky hero. His gruff exterior hides a heart that is quite tender and a very caring spirit. Killer abs don't hurt either! Lilah is strong-willed and always willing to help a friend or animal in need but she isn't so eager to let anyone help her. I enjoyed this romance and am eager to read the stories of Brady's foster brothers who seem like sexy hero material in their own rites.

Don't miss this highly entertaining start to the author's Animal Magnetism series! He rocked her against him. "No idea what I'm going to do with you." She didn't know what he was going to do with her either, but she hoped it was good. ANIMAL MAGNETISM by Jill Shalvis and narrated by Karen White is a very entertaining start to the author's Animal Magnetism series. I'm reading/listening to this series out-of-order and can attest that this series can be enjoyed in any order. There are interconnected characters and a common small-town setting, but each book works very well as a standalone if that is your preference. ANIMAL MAGNETISM is the story of ex-military pilot and loner, Brady Miller, kennel owner and a true guardian angel to animals Lilah Young. Both characters shined as did their supporting cast. I can't gush enough about how fantastic this book was! Karen White's narration was perfection exemplified. She even aced the animal sounds. LOL! Every time the duck quacked, I cracked up. She seamlessly differentiated between the characters and I could always tell who was speaking just from her voice. I have picked up audios just because she has narrated them. Her performances have never disappointed. If you get a chance to listen to this book, go for it. Jill and Karen are a winning combination and, together, they create an experience not to be missed. ANIMAL MAGNETISM is one of my favorite Jill Shalvis' books so far. I loved the setting, the two primary characters, Lilah and Brady, both of them together, the animals, the story - just everything about it! My one and only complaint about this book is that I didn't want it to end! Thank goodness, there's more of this series I haven't listened to yet; I'm definitely on it! I would highly recommend this book, indeed this entire series, to anyone who enjoys sexy, contemporary, small-town romances that are guaranteed to leave you with a big smile. Another great book from Jill Shalvis. This book has quirky animals and junk food addicted hero and heroine. Lilah is the co-owner of the town's only kennel and everyone loves her. Brady is home temporarily visiting his foster brothers who are trying to get him to stay. Lilah literally runs into Brady and the adventure and laughs begin.

Paperback/Romance: first, two disclosures: I got this book as a gift from Goodreads in return for a honest review. Second, I've read one other Jill Shalvis book and I gave it two stars too. This book is just so absurd with all these animals; some that should be eating each other. Getting past that, the whole story could have been told in a 200 page book because there was really no plot to it. It was getting to the point where I was waiting for a dead body to fall out of closet. I skimmed through the sex scenes. I waited for witty banter. It never showed up. It's an easy read, but predictable.

I absolutely adore Jill Shalvis' books and began this particular series with the fourth book, and have ever since been dying to find the time to go back and start again at the beginning of the series.  While it is a series, each novel can be read as a standalone companion novel, but trust me, once you begin, you will definitely want more.  The story is set in the beautiful town of Sunshine Idaho.  Lilah Young runs a shelter and kennel service for animals.  She loves animals of all kinds, and is the go-to person for finding strays and other abandoned animals a home.  She is fun-loving, witty, a very hard worker, and always has about a million things on her plate.  Her two best friends AKA the hottest set of bachelors in town are Dell and Adam Connlelly.  Dell is a veterinarian and runs an animal center,  His brother Adam helps and also trains search and rescue animals.  Lilah, Dell, and Adam are best friends.  Adam and Dell have a third brother, Brady Miller, who they haven't seen in quite some time.  Brady is ex special forces, a pilot, and lives and works in extremely dangerous situations.  While in town, he and Lilah meet in the most comical way.  I don't want to give any more about that away, but trust me, you'll enjoy it. The chemistry between these two is intense from the moment they meet, but Brady doesn't do long-term relationships and has his own set of issues stemming from the past he has to deal with.  Lilah has been hurt before and is reluctant to go down the relationship road again, but girls, Brady is just to hot and sexy not to have a little fun with.   Whether or not she can keep her heart out of the mix will be the challenge, not to mention the fact that Dell and Adam are extremely overprotective of her. That said, the heart wants what the heart wants, and everything that happens between the heart wanting and actually getting that proves to be an absolutely delightful story.  Animal magnetism is one of those books that totally captures your heart, makes you smile, swoon, and sigh over and over again, and I total loved it.  This series is a definitely a must read for fans of contemporary romance.  As far as the audio goes, the narrator is awesome and does a wonderful job, making this a pleasure to listen to.

I read this book for background after reading the second book in the series. It's an average read for a romance. There are some pacing problems but otherwise the book is a decent read. I would have appreciated more character development; sometimes the main characters come across as two-dimensional and secondary characters are sketched in.
