Though by no means definitive, the third volume in BMG's multi-part, budget-line overview of the big band sound of the 1940s is still a good introduction to the swing era -- while the omission of liner notes is endlessly frustrating, the overall sound quality is strong, and perennials like Glenn Miller's "(I've Got a Gal in) Kalamazoo," Duke Ellington's "I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)" and Tommy Dorsey's "Take Me."
