About the Author

Tom Kelly was born in Mobile, Alabama on May 15th 1927. He lives in Spanish Fort, Alabama with his wife of 64 years, Helen. He and Helen have one daughter, Laura and twin grand children.

Tom has written more than 22 books about the bird, the South, the timber industry and other subjects such as fish jumping over pine trees, intelligent dogs, precocious girl children and so much more. Other Tom Kelly books and audio books can be found on the Colonel's web site

Tom was in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, 1944-1946 aerial gunner. From 1951-1952 U.S. Army, Korean Campaign, Artilllery officer, Battery Commander. He retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army.
