Much like New Jersey's other favorite son, Jon Bon Jovi obviously spent quite a bit of time thinking about the events of September 11th when writing songs for Bounce, his band's eighth album. That's clear from the opening notes of "Undivided," which kicks things off in an anthemic, and somewhat angry, tone: Lyrics that directly address "my brother lost in the rubble/my sister lost in the crush" are interwoven with surprisingly heavy riffs to good effect, a pairing repeated on the stirring "Everyday." That muscular melodicism -- harkening back as far Slippery When Wet -- jump-starts many of Bounce's tracks: "Hey Joey" spins a hardscrabble tale of Garden State growing-up over an appropriately rootsy backing track, while "Hook Me Up" moves with a slithering gait that lets Richie Sambora strut his stuff with glee. As he's grown more mature, Jon Bon Jovi's ballads have grown up as well. Here, he and his bandmates not only turn out a brace of romantic ballads -- the delicate "You Had Me from Hello," which Jon says was inspired by his stint on Ally McBeal, is the best of the bunch -- but also stretch things a bit, as on "Open All Night," which, with its pensive, piano-driven verses, ends the album on an introspective-yet-upbeat note. As has been their habit in the past, the band occasionally try too hard to come across as sincere and wind up sounding overwrought and lead-footed. That's the case on the overly orchestrated "Right Side of Wrong," which takes the "Living on a Prayer" melodic formula one step too far, and "The Distance," which could pass for a Creed outtake. But overall, Bounce makes a good case for Jon Bon Jovi -- and the rest of the band -- having grown up just right.

This is the best CD from this band yet. My 10 yr old sing Undivided all day long. There are at least 8 top ten songs that will come from this one.

Bounce is Bon Jovi's best CD ever and of all the music being released this fall, this CD has the most optomistic lyrics and the best hard guitar riffs that have been out in ages. I especially like Bounce, Undivided, and Everyday because of the awesome guitar work and the optomistic lyrics. I love You Had Me at Hello and All About Loving You because his ballads make you feel like he's writing about you. It's definitely a must buy!

The album kicks off with a bang with an instant classic - Undivided. This song is the quintessential Bon Jovi song with blistering electric guitars and a great riff. The hits keep coming with Everyday (the first single), Joey (a great story song in the mold of Elton John's Levon), Misunderstood, Right Side of Wrong (great cowboy song), and the title track Bounce. Everything seems to work on this album and Bon Jovi does not seem afraid to add new sounds and change with the times. Orchestras greatly enhance The Distance and Love Me Back to Life. The ballads, All About Lovin' You, You Had Me From Hello, and Open All Night, really showcase Jon's and Richie's great voices and sounds. Bounce is the eighth studio album from Bon Jovi, and like a fine wine, the band just gets better with age. Overall, this record is a great, upbeat rock album.

Bon Jovi 'bounced' back onto the rock charts with this fantastic collection of new songs. While a few songs focus on the aftermath of 9/11, Bon Jovi stay away from making a 9/11 CD, and make a record that is about everyday life. Songs such as the title track, Undivided and Everyday rock the socks off of the listener, while songs such as Joey, Right Side of Wrong and Misunderstood showcase Bon Jovi's storytelling capabilities...And while there are some tracks on the CD that may be skipped more often than they are listened to (such as You Had Me From Hello), the overall CD is a keeper, one that will stay in your CD player on repeat!

Bon Jovi does it again!!! Bounce is a mixture of great rock hits, and those famous Bon Jovi ballads. There is a little bit of something for everyone, and even if you aren't a Bon Jovi fan, you should at least check it out. My favorite songs include the first single Everyday, and the title track Bounce. The haunting ballad You Had Me From Hello, will make girls and women around the world swoon. So run out now and get your copy.

Bon Jovi is always worth the buy. This album kicks off with an awesome song both musically and lyrically called "Undivided". As always the pure sound of Jon and Richie's voices makes songs like "Hook me Up" sound incredible. Then their is always that fun loving song "bounce". It sounds like your in the middle of the football field when you listen to it. Great Buy. Barbara C

I love the new CD Bounce. I have always been a Bon Jovi fan and am very impressed with the Bounce CD. I got it the day it came out and take it with me in the car and bring it in when I get home and put it in the CD player and listen to it. I like the variety of music, some slow songs, some fast, some songs sound like the older Bon Jovi music and some of the songs sound completely different. I have really enjoyed it.

Jersey rockers Bon Jovi...ARE BACK! And in a BIG way! I love this new CD. I may have a problem with just one song..."Joey" but it's growing on me. I love "Bounce" (the song). With its upbeat, positive sound, it's impossible not to be immediately happy with it. All in all, "Bounce" is a must-buy for all Bon Jovi fans and new Bon Jovi fans looking for an escape from the pains of the events of September 11.

if you haven't gotten this album, GO NOW!!! It is such a good album. The power ballads like "Open All Night" and "All About Loving You" are sooo beautiful, but don't count out the rockin' songs like, "Undivided" and "Bounce". You will love this album if you are a Meat Head or a Romantic. Some songs are very, "These Days", some are more "New Jersey", and some are totally new and different. There's some very hard rock songs--"Hook me Up" my personal favorite--some have almost Meatloaf-esk paino--"Joey". This is one of the most beautifully put togther albums out there. If you are not a BJ fan you will be after listening to this album, and if you are already a fan you will love them even more. I recomend that you buy this album. Keep the Faith! Olivia

Bon Jovi's new album Bounce is a #1 album that you should have in your house, car, buy it for a friend. It contains a variety of music. Each song takes on its own personal meaning. Ballads like "All About Loving You" and "Open All Night", pick me up/motivational songs like "Everyday" and "Undivided". Great rockin songs include, "Bounce" and "Hook Me Up." "Misunderstood" is a great song that any guy or girl can relate to, and "Right Side of Wrong" has that great story-telling quality that Bon Jovi does so well. It's a great rockin record like Slippery and New Jersey. Great guitar playing by Richie Sambora is all over this record. I can't choose a personal favorite song, because they are all great. Bon Jovi will blow you away with this album.
