Lightning Wrapped In A Rainbow I fell in love with the wonderful Cauld Ane’s the first time I read Bound By Blood in 2017. I devoured every word, of every sentence, of every paragraph, of every page, of every chapter, of this incredible work of literary art. I have read this treasure so many times that if I had it in actual book form, the pages would show definite signs of love and reading wear. The book that started it all. It started my love of Tracey’s (Piper’s) writing ability and of her work. It is the start of the world’s introduction to the Cauld Ane’s. A loving, loyal, down to earth, protective group of people, I am so happy to have in my life. The beloved characters come to life with each word I read. I get lost in the pages that I love so much. It may sound crazy, but my world would not be as bright without this beautifully written, literary treasure!!

I've absolutely loved Piper Davenport's Dogs of Fire series, but I was a little reluctant to start the Cauld Ane series. A friend of mine was going on about how much she was loving this series, I’m so glad I started it! Kade and Sam are a fun couple, I seriously love them both. There is a paranormal element to this series but it’s like nothing I’ve read before. So many things I loved about this book, their whole when/if marriage conversation, Sam’s reaction to his home & of course her first flight with Kade and their “safety” conversation. The book does not have a single slow spot. There is drama, sexy romance, action and humor. If you like paranormal stories, I highly recommend Piper Davenport’s Cauld Ane series.

I love this book! I am not normally a paranormal romance fan but the story just sucked me in! I would recommend this to any romance fan, even if you don’t normally read this genre. Kade and Sam are a great couple, Sam is a sassy heroine and Kade is all Alpha hero. This book as it all, insta love, romance, action, humor and great characters. Plus it is set in Scotland! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I absolutely love Kade and Samantha!! They are perfect for each other and a great way to kick off a series. This is one of the most imaginative paranormal I have read, and I've read a lot! A complete new race of people, complete with background story! Kudos to this author!!

The story starts off with Sam aka Samantha being a strong female character and gradually she becomes whimpy. Kade starts off as a strong male and becomes a pushover. It just doesn't suit. If they are both Dr.'s then they both should have some decorum of what a Dr. does. She works with blood and microscopes and he is a healer with powers. She has her own power that grows but she becomes dickwhipped and whimpy. "Oh what if you get hurt? What if you get shot? What if you lose consiousness and then get shot? What if your brothers are passed out and can't help you?" Helllo?! Grow a pair of man balls and deal! They both have powers and so do his brothers. The Cald Aneis a race of immortal vikings that can't stand heat and must live in the cold. They originate from Iceland and moved to Scottland. Their eyes turn red when they are mad. So far there is nothing special about this world that these immortal vikings live in. They might as well be imortal humans with special powers. I got half way through the book and lost it. I couldn't finish it. Sam was no longer the strong character with a shy background, she became a scared little girl crying in a corner over what ifs' and a spoild child who has no since of privacy. I gave up. If you can make it through this book then congrats. There isn't enough world building, there isn't any strength of character growth, nor was there enough character building. She works with blood (got that), he's her boss (got that too), he can't stand the heat (ok what's so special about that), he's a king (so), he is long lived (ok so), they have differnt types of powers (interesting), and that is it (wow). This a good start to what could have been a great story.
