They've spent their lives pushing each other away, but what will happen when they need each other most?

Anita Martin doesn't expect much from life. Growing up on the street, bouncing from one foster home to another, she learned to rely only on herself. Even after she finally found a loving family to take her in, she was still an outsider-something Abraham, one of the family's older sons, never let her forget.

Abraham Evans doesn't know how Ani always manages to get under his skin, only that's she's been doing it since they were teens. She is-and always has been-undeniably gorgeous. But he's never met anyone as pissed off at the world as Ani.

For fifteen years, Ani and Bram have agreed on exactly one thing: they can't stand each other-until one night when their anger gives way to passion. Yet even as Ani and Bram begin to secretly seek comfort in one another's arms, they remain emotionally worlds apart. When Ani's life takes a dramatic turn and she realizes she needs more than Bram can give, their fragile, no-strings relationship unravels. One way or another, Ani is determined to survive. But when Bram finally admits his true feelings, he may discover Ani has moved on without him . . .

About the Author

When Nicole Jacquelyn was eight and people asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she told them she wanted to be a mom. When she was twelve, her answer changed to author. Her dreams stayed constant. First, she became a mom, and then during her senior year of college—with one daughter in first grade and the other in preschool—she sat down and wrote a story.

Wow this story was amazing. I couldn’t put it down all day. I suggest blocking out enough time to read it in one go because you won’t want to stop. From the beginning, I loved the family closeness and the outgoing personalities. Everyone was likable. Then the sexy was oh so yummy. Those points enough would have made it a great book, all sassy and hot, but then the heart moments were thrown in. The feels piled up all over me, and I loved every minute of it. I smiled a lot and shed many tears. A book that moves me emotionally is always my goal. Change of Heart is definitely a winner.

Change of Heart is the second book in the Fostering Love series and is the story of Ani and Bram, who we met in Unbreak my Heart. Ani and Bram are the foster siblings of Kate. Their's is really a story of the thin line between hate and love. The start off really going in on each other and then something shifts between the pair. My main problem with this story is that I couldn't really follow along with the shift. There had never been any previous attraction in the least so it was all sort of too sudden for me. Had there been at least a "I hate him/her but damn he/she's cute" before, then it would've been a little more believable. My other problem with the story is that I genuinely liked both of these characters when I read Unbreak My Heart, but I didn't really care for either when reading Change of Heart. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't buy into their romance or if it was the characters themselves. Either way, I was really bummed that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first. Also, although Change of Heart is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. *Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange of an honest review.*

Where the heck has this author and this series been all my life?! My copy of this book is filled with an endless amount of post it tags and sticky notes because I had too many things running through my mind while I read this book. Ani managed to break my heart before the 25% mark of the book and I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed. She was so strong, so funny and all in all- kind of a bad a--. Abraham was a little bit of everything but a lot of adorable even though sometimes he forgot to use his filter and said a dumb stuff that made things awkward for everyone involved. I found myself comparing this book to the first book in the series (like the fact that I was almost 50% and my eyes didn't look like tennis balls yet) but I should have known that it was too good to be true that I was 200+ pages into the book and I hadn't cried yet because sooner rather than later I was crying so hard I couldn't see the words on the pages in front of me. Nicole Jaquelyn definitely knows how to capture the readers hearts and mess with their emotions. I was happy one minute, cursing Bram the next and then just crying like a baby- it was a bit of a cycle, and I really loved it. This series is now one of my favorite series and I honestly hope that there will be more of it. I am dying to see what happens with the rest of the characters in this book. *Disclaimer: A Review Copy was kindly was provided to Reads By Rose by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Life has let Anita Martin down more times than she can count, so her faith in life and others has always been lacking, she has never really let herself get attached to anyone because the fear of them walking away has always been great. Being abandoned as a child and spending time in multiple foster homes she never really had the chance to know love, nor feel it, she's not even sure she'd be able to recognize it if it happened in front of her. She found some semblance of it with the last family she was placed with, and lived with for years, but there was one person who wasn't so happy about her being there, and through the years he has made his thoughts known. Bram has always treated her differently, generally he's down right rude to her, but one night when he lets his guard down she finds a way in, and something between them shifts... From the moment Abraham Evans met Anita Martin, there was a un-explainable irritation there, she pushed his buttons like no one else ever had, something about her just rubbed him the wrong way. As they grew older, it turned into a secret attraction to her, but anytime he spoke to her he was met with attitude and always pushed away. He just couldn't win with her, then one night she walked into his domain and everything changed... From the instant I started this one I knew I better get comfortable, because it was going to be a long night of addictive reading ahead, and boy oh boy was it worth every minute of lost sleep!! This story seeped into me, and took possession of my heart and mind and had me flying through the pages as fast as I could swipe them, it was powerful, profound, heart-wrenching, breathtakingly beautiful, and I loved every single minute of it! Ms. Jacquelyn has been a true revelation for me, her books are the kind of books that you devour in one sitting and treasure long after the last page is turned, each one I've read has inspired me, hit me deep and reaffirmed my belief in happy endings!! If there is one book you pick up this year, please make it one of her books, you will not be disappointed!!
