This CD is awesome. My entire family loves it. We just love this band. Our four year old and two year old love this band too. Our girls sing along with the album when we play it in the car or home. Our oldest knows their remake of Sam Cooke's "Bring it on Home" from their self titled album by heart she learned it when she was about two in a half years old. The youngest likes "All for You" fom 'Somewhere More Familiar' and their self titled album but she only knows peices of it, however with the numerous times that we jam to Sister Hazel it won't be long before she learns it all.
As “Your Mistake” starts to run up the charts you will find that many other songs from the Chasing Daylight CD will follow. This is a great CD that is both typical of Sister Hazel’s long dedication to producing music that is tantalizing to the ear and to the soul.
I bought this CD for one reason: Sister Hazel made it. And I was NOT disappointed. Their music and their lyrics are soulful and often very beautiful. I like the fact that the songs are mostly upbeat, affectionate, and tender, even when 'life gets in the way.' If you are for some odd reason determined to stay in a bad mood, do not listen to this CD; it will lift you right out of it. But if you are ready to soar, 'chase daylight' with Sister Hazel.
I have loved Sister Hazel since I first heard "ALL For You", and their recent hit CD "Chasing Daylight" is a great album to have. The music and lyrics takes you off to a place that you don't want to leave.
I can't sit tight, and I can't dine. I wanna explain you'll love this line: "I wanna be good I wanna be great, I wanna be everything except for YOUR MISTAKE..." People say that Ken Block has the ability to write songs that become the soundtrack to our lives. That said, I bet you will agree that the intense lyrics, beautiful harmonies and incredibly addictive tunes will make you glad you purchased this MUST HAVE CD!!!
I've been fan of the band since the song ¿All For You¿ debuted, and Sister Hazel has blown me away yet again with Chasing Daylight. What an amazing CD! Vocals, both harmony and solo, soar brilliantly while the instrumentals are powerful and positively felt upon being heard. In true Sister Hazel fashion, the lyrics flow deeper than the ocean¿s greatest depth¿going, as in their previous release Fortress, where no lyrics have gone before. It is virtually inevitable that as you listen, you will find some part of yourself and your life in these songs. Chasing Daylight extends the high of Fortress¿ ¿Champagne High¿ with a moody range of tracks. From the ¿rain that tastes like wine¿ of ¿Your Mistake¿ to ¿Best I¿ll Ever Be¿ and ¿Killing Me Too¿ and their wistful pleading, the sexy, energetic ¿Everybody,¿ and the brooding promises of ¿Sword and Shield,¿ every song is a musical journey... and that journey is more than singable! What more is there to say? I universally recommend this album¿ Chasing Daylight is beautiful to hear, easy to relate to, and very hard not to like.
Chasing Daylight is a well written and performed CD that will steal your heart and keep you wanting more. It is a great collection of new songs that will quickly become your favorite CD. Chasing Daylight is as perfect as they come.
