Jade Childs spent ten years in captivity, but now that she's back, the real battle for survival begins. The media shadows her. Flashbacks haunt her. Her old life evades her. Her so-called new life rejects her. She spent too many years in the dark to recognize the light. She spent too long repressing her feelings to remember how to express them. She spent a decade abandoning hope and cannot dare letting it back into her life. Jade's not just defined by what happened to her--she's collared to it.

A community wants to know the story,
Parents want to forget the story,
Friends want to be a part of the story,
And the man who still loves her faces the greatest challenge yet: letting her go.

Nicole's writing is nothing short of brilliant. The way she snags you from the go, and you can't look back. Nothing I say can really told a candle to the emotional roller coaster I went on while reading this book. I was so invested in the journey of Jade and Torrin. How do you cope when you've been missing for 10 years? How do you begin to see the light after being in the dark for so long? You turn to the one person who searched for you all along. 'You brought me back...when everyone else just kind of left me behind' If I could give this book infinite stars I would.... If I could tell at the top of my lungs about this book.... Oh wait, I have. The growth and beauty in each book that Nicole writes continues to blow me away. I hope that you enjoy Jade and Torrins journey as much as I did... Grab your tissues and some alcohol, you'll need it!

I did not know what to expect at the beginning. This book dealt with difficult topics and made them comprehensible. The main characters were well developed through the whole story. I believe readers will fall in love with this book.

To say this story is unique is an understatement. I was a bit worried that it was going to be over the top dark but it really wasn't. It was hard to read at times because it was so emotional but the story is so well written and developed that you are not left in a pit of despair. What happens to this young couple is devastating but the ending will leave you with hope for a HEA. The best way to read this book is go in BLIND. The roller coaster of emotions will be well worth it. Torrin's unfailing love and commitment to finding Jade is unending and amazingly beautiful. While the twist was a bit of a shock, it only served to make the story so much richer This is a unique story that you won't stop reading until the end. A top favorite of 2016!

Jade and Torrin were high school sweethearts until the unthinkable happens and Jade is kidnapped and held for 10 years. Torrin never gave up on searching for her and, although some changes have occurred in his life, he is still devoted to her. Jade is unsure how to react to situations, people or change. My heart broke for her and the challenges she faced. When she learns what Torrin has become, she is devastated. While I really did enjoy the story and the way it flowed, I was disappointed that Jade did not fully reach for what she wanted. After spending 10 years being deprived of her love, family and friends I had hoped she would reach for her dreams. Torrin was definitely one great male role model and strove to let Jade know that, no matter what, she came first for him. Jade felt unworthy of him but I had hoped she would see that it was for him to determine, not her. Overall a good read and interesting story, just would have like to have had more closure on them.

Collared by Nicole Williams is an epic love story that will consume you. I was hooked by the synopsis, and every detail of the book reeled me in. The clever double entendre in the title was the cherry-on-top of this treat of a read. Collared is not a dark romance about a kidnap victim who falls in love with her captor. It is a story about what happens when a victim is freed and tries to resume her interrupted life. When rescued, Jade is fragile, scared, and lost. The hopelessness she feels is understood and alleviated only by Torrin, the boy next door and the love of her life. Torrin, who kept vigil while she was gone, who never gave up hope, and who will remain devoted to Jade until the end, will squeeze your heart. “If I’m forced to make a choice, it will be you. Every time. It will be you.” Collared is a very emotional read. It's raw, painful and heartbreaking. It is frequently difficult but always empathetic. Thankfully, the more painful details are excluded from the story, but William’s writing draws you in to the emotions of her main characters. Beautifully written, Collared is unique and powerful. There is an unusual twist that makes for a stunning and powerful story. You’ll fall in love with the characters and feel everything with them along their journey. Your heart will melt when you read this story about never giving up. P.S. Keep tissues within reach

I've just finished this book after reading it in two sittings and literally have no idea how to start this review. My emotions were stretched to the limit; it left me numb, happy, sad, plain exhausted. Told in present tenses from the female protagonist’s point of view, I found the grammatical structure used a feat in itself considering that the subject is extremely delicate and revolves around past events. Comprehensibly, this book isn’t overflowing with banter and neither did I feel the need for it. Nevertheless, what dialogue there is between all the characters is extremely good, especially in chapter one where we get to know two teenagers madly in love with each other. Then boom! From here on in I was taken on a staggeringly heart-breaking journey. Never in a million years could I ever have imagined the twist that was to come. I. Was. Stupefied! In fact, there are more bends than in a wiggly hairpin which only added to unlimited angst. At the end of the story, I didn’t know what to do with myself and as I’m still suffering from a monstrous book hangover, my thoughts on a high, low… totally out of control, picking up another read is for now, out of the question. What can I tell you about Jade Childs’ traumatic teenage experience without giving anything away? I instantly invested in this happy and outgoing lass; however, something didn’t seem to ring true. It was all too perfect, too beautiful. In a split of a second, her life is shattered to smithereens and in another, the ground was pulled from underneath my feet. Struggling to have a little normalcy is taking one step forward, two steps back. She can’t open up, she feels smothered by most of her family, her state of mind…fragile. Why her loved ones treat her the way they do and have difficulty handling their damaged daughter who I thought, beyond repair, was understandable. The press diving in like vultures twenty-four-seven causes much unrest in more ways than one, and is a strong factor in Jade’s story. Throughout the read, I desperately needed to see a light at the end of the tunnel and couldn't wait for her to seek professional help which earlier, was offered. It took me a while to warm up to her sister whose standoffishness was cruel. Her father is at a loss; her mother tries her best but nothing seems to work. Except one person. Torrin. He has the key. He will take control simply because he worships her. Worship being the optimal word as you will discover. Undying love tied by the medulla, the heart and soul has always been just them! Tears are falling on the keyboard while writing about these two outstanding characters. Very slowly, Torrin’s quest to find the girl who was virtually stolen from under his nose unravels. What a man! He has the patience of a saint, understanding and how guilt-ridden this poor man is. For me, he is beyond god-fearing. But I got so angry with him and know I was being unfair because in dire circumstances like this one, call for dire decisions to be made. How often I asked myself the question; “If only…?” All the character development is nothing less than sublime. The editing impeccable. The one issue I had with this book was in its finality which after much thought, I understood. Ms Williams, this is the first novel I have read by you and I will read it again and again. Hopefully with Rachel, my sister-in-arms who is dying to read it, will find comfort in my outstretched hand. So looking forward to reading more works by you. Bravismo!
