Overview

An uproarious indictment of Donald Trump's lying, cheating, and poor sportsmanship—by the bestselling author and acclaimed sportswriter.

Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump is an on-the-ground and behind-the-scenes look at Trump's ethics deficit on and off the course. Reilly will transport readers onto the golf course with President Trump, revealing the absurd ways in which he lies about his feats and what they can tell us about the way he leads off the course in the most important job in the world.

Reilly has been with Trump on the fairway, the green, and in the weeds, and has seen first-hand how the president plays—and it's not pretty. Based on his personal experiences, and interviews with dozens of golf pros, amateurs, developers, partners, opponents, and even caddies who have first-hand experience with Trump on the course, Reilly takes a deep and often hilarious look at how Trump shamelessly cheats at golf, lies about it, sues over it, bullies with it, and profits off it.

From Trump's ridiculous claim to have won eighteen club championships, to his devious cheating tricks, to his tainted reputation as a golf course tycoon, Commander in Cheat tells you everything you need to know about the man.

If it only it were not so frightening, this book would be hilarious! Reilly digs deep into the persona of Donald Trump, revealing his true character (or lack thereof). Trump's passion is golf. I think everyone knows that. But what kind of person would diminish his life's passion by constantly cheating, bragging, and lying? The author shows explicitly that that kind of person would be Trump. The man is completely incapable of telling the truth. He lies about his score. He kicks the golf balls into a better space (or has his lackey do it for him). He lies about the championships he's won. He lies about everything. You might think that the author is another member of the "fake news" group that Trump rails on, however he documents incident after incident, as told by upstanding members of society who have golfed with him. It's a running gag among golfers everywhere how bad Trump cheats and lies. And if you can't believe anything he says about his passion, how can you think he is going to tell the truth about anything else? You would have to be completely gullible. Someday, just like our parents warned us, the lies will catch up to you. And the day of reckoning will be painful. Evidently Trump's parents didn't impress that upon him. How he has made it this far is amazing (and frustrating). When that day comes, I just hope that he doesn't take us all down with him!

Why would a professional writer waste time compiling this ridiculous book? Must be for the revenue. Don't waste your time or money. Two stars instead of one for the comedic value.

Fantastic book. Great insight into what kind of less than human Trump really is.

It's about business and taking advantage too, where Trump buys courses when the owners are down, and the members yield their solemnly-protected dues funds. Trump has done some good too, has made Turnberry and Bedminster better. That's 2/20, otherwise his courses are expensive and poorly attended. I am recreational, both in golf and politics/news. Enjoyed it.

Not being a golfer, at times Reilly got a little golf-y. I appreciated the background stories and all the quotes from people who know trump. If you didn’t like him before, you will really loathe him after reading this book!

I thought it was a good read. Entertaining and some interesting stories. People who are all about Trump won’t like it. I thought it did a pretty good job of showing he could have somewhat of a human side as well.

Thought it would be funny, but alas, simply another Trump hit-piece. Don’t waste your money.

Typical "Hogwash". This book attempts to make light of Trumps Presidency by spewing the typical distorted rhetoric about the time he spends Golfing. All the while Trump continues to lead the USA and its people back to where it should be; the top. Record unemployment for African Americans, Hispanics and Women. Yes it's true. Look it up for your self. Highest GDP numbers in the past 40 years. record stock market gains, Best job creation in 50-60 years. It goes on and on. All these accomplishments while he actually takes time of to golf at times. 2 years and all of this. 6 more years of President Trump and America will be Greater than ever before!!!
