With his first album since 2001's Grammy-winning 8701, contemporary R&B star Usher has his work cut out for him. The heartthrob proves he's up to the challenge by kicking off his fourth disc with the crunked-up single "Yeah!," propelled by cameos from Dirty South hip-hop brethren Lil Jon and Ludacris. And while there are plenty more upbeat club tracks, including the Michael Jacksonreminiscent "Take Your Hand," Confessions isn't all about the good times. As the title suggests, on several songs Usher comes clean about many facets of his personal life, including past indiscretions ("Confessions Part II"), his painful breakup with longtime girlfriend Chilli of TLC ("Burn"), and having the karmic tables turned by a female player ("Caught Up"). Elsewhere, it's clear that the smooth, falsetto-prone crooner's primary goal is merely to seduce his already enraptured female fans with sexy mid-tempo tracks like the quiet-storm jam "Can You Handle It?," the funky, guitar-led "Bad Girl," and the X-rated "That's What It's Made For." By tackling more adult subject matter with each of his albums, Usher has successfully transitioned from cute teenybopper to bona fide adult hottie -- a feat his idol Jacko never quite accomplished. And although airing his dirty laundry and then putting out an APB for all bad girls to come out and play sounds a bit contradictory, that's exactly the kind of trifling behavior that makes this abs-a-licious bad boy all the more irresistible.

it is a slick album it has great songs some of the best ever
If you're looking for a chill, romantic evening, this cd is IT. Seriously, the music FLOWS... his vocals are simply amazing. This is definitely one of the hottest cd's out right now. I'm so glad I bought it.
I love is song burn he makes me burn when I hear that song.
Confessions Is One Of His Best Songs!!! He Sat It Off At The BET Awards. He Got Down!! Go Ahead With Ya Bad Self!!
EVERY SONG ON THIS CD IS A HIT...THERE IS NOT ONE SONG THAT YOU CAN SKIP, THEY ARE ALL JUST THAT HOT!!!
i think that this is one of his best cds ever especially the songs burn and yeah are my most favorites and cant wait until his next cd comes out because he is maturing into a male hiphop/r n b artist.....................
Usher outdid himself on this album. He opened up and let his confessions out. It takes a lot of guts to do that and Usher did it. I give it to him. Nobody else in the game is doing it, so it's great to finally hear "real" music. Thanks for being real with us Usher. Hands down, this album is hott ...
The hooks are too repetitive, even for hip-hop, and the lyrics are incredibly immature. Even in the liner notes it's obvious that Usher is way too impressed with himself...there's no humilty in his lyrics thus it's hard to enjoy some of the catchiness of (just) some of the songs. His voice is still as beautiful as ever though.
He has done it again! I truly love this man! I have been a fan since the poetic justice soundtrack. The man is creative, talented, and sexy. I have always and will always be a fan. I have every CD this godsend has created, since he first stepped on the scene. I have matured right along with Usher, and saw him go from a cute little boy to a sexy young man. I give this album two thumbs up, as a fan and as a true music lover!
MAN, WHAT CAN I SAY. THIS IS A TIGHT CD. HE IS A GREAT ARTIST! I LIKE THE VIDEO YEAH! BECAUSE I LIKE THE ATOWN STOMP. TIGHT DANCE USHER!
This is a great Cd. The music is tight as a record filled with elements of R&B,hiphop, jazz, and some Prince funk. This CD is the best in 2004!!!!!!!!! Go Usher !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah! is the BEST song i have ever heard!
This is his best CD yet!! I've listened to it so much, that if it was a tape, it would've popped by now. I like all of the songs. You don't have to skip a few tracks like on others. Listen to it straight through and you'll be mad that it ended.
I love his album... he did a great job! Keep it coming Usher!
usher did really good with this album and his 3 singles, confessions, yeah, and burn. hes been on the top for the hit lists lately. i only gave it 4 stars because most of the music is the same the whole way through the album.
I know i'm the only one giving this review any negativity, but compared to his other cd's, this one just isn't as good. The first 6 or 7 songs are tight, but the remainder of them sound the same.
USHER IS GAERT HE'S SIMPLY THE BEST AND THISALBUM JUST'S PROVE IT...AND USHER IF YOU READ THIS HOLLA AT ME @ JEANNEG14@AOL.COM
I love Ushers new song Yeah it makes me want to just get up and dance oh yeah I love Usher to
On the last few Usher cd's I only liked a few tracks. But after listening to Confessions, I must say every track is hot. He takes you from the club straight to the bedroom. The one song that I must play over and over is Can you handle it? Usher, I danced, I cried, and I fell in love all to your cd. Thanks
R. Kelly may have the "R" in R&B but Usher is NOT short-stopping with the "u" in Blues. This whole cd is raw. He put his business on the street which in some aspects I'm thinking "What'd he go and do that for?" but in others, I understand why he told the story before the media could get ahold of it and mess it ALL up. His voice is SICK!!!!!!!!! I have all of his cds but this one is the best of them all. He was hitting some high notes that i didn't even know were in his system. I was just excited to hear him sing. I could feel his voice in my heart...remember when Beyonce said "yes" real loud on one of her new songs? His whole album is like that! Superb. I never knew he was so funny until 106 & Park. The man can dance, he's funny, he's adorable, he's sexy, and he can SANG!
Usher's new song "Yeah" is the best song he's ever made!
When I heard Yeah i was like, oh wow what a great hip hop song, then i heard confessions and burn. I was so psyched to the the cd, then all usher would talk about is about "doing it with somebody special" and how it was done. Very turned off.
Year is da best song eva! anyone who dosent have it on CD is crazy. i watch him every day and i think he is da best dancer eva! everyone in da world should luv him!
The tracks on this cd, take you all over the place...a full spectrum of emotions. It's not too often when you can pop a cd in, and listen to it from beginning to end. AND, enjoy every minute of it. 3 single-worthy tracks: obviously YEAH, BURN and BAD GIRL, and the "fillers" send you off in melodic bliss too!
I have loved Usher since the begining and yet again he did another great album. How can you not enjoy listening to an album that talks about love, losing a loved one and having a good time. And plus he knoes how to keep it real!!
