I am an 8th grade ELA Gifted Education Teacher, Reading Specialist, and have a Certificate in Technology Integration in Education. Catlin Tucker’s book is well written with useful ideas that I can implement right away! Creative Tech begins with “Points of Emphasis in the Common Core” which I found to be very refreshing and insightful. The “Low-Tech” classroom gives practical ideas for educators that find themselves lacking devices but want to incorporate technology. Tucker supports teachers by giving them a “technology tool belt” by explaining useful applications with text and illustrations. The “Reading Standards” chapters are excellent. For those educators that teach writing but are not sure how to incorporate technology to meet the ELA Common Core Standards, this book is for you. Tucker offers chapters on “Argumentative Writing”, “Informative Writing”, “Narrative Writing”, and Research. Finally, a list of “Live Links” is offered in the book making this text everything an educator who cares about students, the Common Core Standards, and technology needs!
