Reunion Prom? Is this really a thing?

In Wishful it is. Lexi Morales never imagined her life would turn into the premise for an 1980s teen movie. But when her big high school trauma hit like a ton of bricks, she spent the next decade trying to hide the truth. After years of careful avoidance, she's back in town to care for her injured mother, just in time for the high school reunion she never planned to attend—a reunion that evokes memories she's tried to forget.

Wishful's friendly neighborhood photographer, Zach Warren, has no idea why he and his best friend drifted apart. But from the first, flashbulb moment he sees Lexi all grown up, she's all he can think about—and his thoughts keep straying right out of the friendzone.

Zach's offer of temporary employment while she's in town should be a perfect fit, but acting like she's never thought of him as more than a friend turns out to be harder than Lexi ever expected. All she wants to do is get through this with her secret—and her heart—intact. One thing's for sure: Lexi is NOT going to this prom.

But what if ten years is just the right amount of time for Zach to finally get a clue?

It is always a joy to read Kait's stories about Wishful! I find myself very anxious to read the next one she writes. I have come to love all her characters and wishing I was there living in their world! Keep 'em coming Kait!!

Dancing Away With My Heart - Sweet Heat! I love any opportunity to return to Wishful and Dancing Away With My Heart is no exception. Once again, Kait Nolan captures the intimacy of small town living as Lexi returns to her hometown to help care for her mother and runs in to her long lost best friend and former secret love Zach. Zach and Lexi slowly fall into step again but both struggle in resuming their friendship each holding back. Although a novella, Kait renders such rich character development for which she is known and leaves the reader routing for these characters to have their HEA. -- I received an advance complimentary copy of this book and am delighted to voluntarily offer this review.

Dancing away with my heart I read this book in one day. It was another great installment of the Wishful series. Lexi and Zach Were best friends growing up; like too peas in a pod. However they went their separate ways after high school. Now Lexi back in town and can she keep avoiding Zach like she has the last decade? You don’t want to miss their heartfelt story. I just love Kait books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another wonderful trip to Wishful. Zach and Lexi's story is a great addition to the Wishful series. It can be read as a stand alone, but if you haven't read the rest of the Wishful series, I encourage you to do so. Thanks Kait for another wonderful book. I received an ARC from booksprout in exchange for an honest review.

It always feels great to return to Wishful. This time for Zach and Lexi....on their journey from friend to lovers. Although it's a novella, it was well written and seemed like a complete story. Interesting take on human nature and how it can sometimes mess up lives. But this story also shows that life can give you second chances if only you are brave enough to take it. Overall a pleasurable read!

Another winner from Kait Nolan. Lexi and Zach's story will tear at your heart (as most of Ms. Nolan's books tend to do!) and, as always, make you want to be a part of this amazing community!!! With each book, I am more and more drawn to wanting to live inside and this is no exception!!! Five stars as always!!!

Another visit to Wishful is always fun. It was nice to touch base with some characters from past books. While this was a nice little read I felt that the characters and story weren't as well developed as I'm used to. The wholes story felt a bit rushed. Not bad, just not one of my favorites from Wishful. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Lexi ran away from her first and only high school prom. She ran away from the whole town to escape the humiliation of the prom that got away. Now, her mother needs her to take care of her so Lexi is back in town. Zach came back to town after college and walked into a photography business for sale. Lexi has been building her own business out of town. What will she do to make money while she is in town helping her mother recover from an ankle injury? Zach invites her to help with his business. But, can Lexi spend all that time with Zach? It takes some friends to point out what Zach couldn't see back in high school. Maybe he can be more observant as an adult. Pick up a copy of Dancing Away with My Heart to find out all about Zach and Lexi and the small town of Wishful. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thoroughly enjoyed the sweet romance between Zach and Lexi. Left me with a warm, glowing feeling when I finished it on a gloomy rainy day. Love the Wishful series and looked forward to Kait’s next one. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

As a fan of friends-to-lovers romance, as well as the Wishful series by Kait Nolan, I was excited to read Lexi and Zach’s story. While Lexi has been living with hurt feelings since high school, Zach’s been missing his best friend and doesn’t understand why she backed away from him. I can totally understand Lexi’s heartbreak, but she needs to be brave and share those feelings with Zach. And while Zach is super excited to see Lexi again, he’s clueless as to the more than friends connection with Lexi. Great characters, an easy read that I couldn’t put down and lots of romance are exactly what I receive every time I pick up a book by Kait Nolan. You can dive into the series at any point, because although they exist in the same world, each book is a stand-alone.

I love to go back to Wishful. While part of a series, each story stands alone. Lexi and Zach were best of friends in high school. But that ended and they've drifted apart. Now they have both landed in Wishful at the same time. As with most small towns, it's impossible to not cross paths. The two reconnect and with the help of their friends find their way back to each other. It's a quick read with a great cast of characters. There were some old friends and some new faces. Kait Nolan really knows how to write a story that makes her characters feel like friends! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ARC for honest review with no compensation received from BookSprout 4.5 stars Dancing Away With My Heart is book 12 in the Wishful series by Kait Nolan. Love this series!! Best friends, budding photographers, high school prom which he thinks she is making a joke about changes the friendship between Lexi Morales and Zach Warren. Now 10 years later Lexi returns to Wishful to help her mother after she injured herself and who does Lexi run into first but Zach and he wants to pick up their friendship right where they left off in high school...so not happening!! It’s also their 10 year high school reunion and the theme is their senior prom and Lexi is so not going... too much heartache about that time in her life... but Zach has finally figured out what happened to their friendship all those years ago and is determined to figure out how to repair the damage, give her a prom to remember and show her his true feelings that took him a while to figure out. Quick sweet read, true to life story, standalone, and visits by former people from other Wishful books!!

Another great book from Wishful. Zach and Lexi were friends through high school. Then suddenly Lexi seems to pull away and finally leaves town, ending up in Texas. Zach remains in town and buys the photography business there. He has done well over the past ten years. Lexi returns to town to help her mother who had a fall. She agrees to help Zach with his photography business while she is there since that is what she does in Texas. But the friend thing seems to not be working. Zach must come to terms with how he hurt Lexi when he didn’t go to prom with her and the message he sent at that time. Well written and great characters as always. Find out how two people try to come to grips with their past life. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Compact but well-fleshed, the characters were real and the plot quick and engaging. My Daughter in Law is a professional photographer and the technical aspects were well researched. It was shorter than I usually like but quite enjoyable

Take that second Chance and Talk about it Kait Nolan has made everyone think twice in her newest Wishful Book “Dancing Away with My Heart”. Lexi and Zach were best friends from when they first met but one incident turned their world upside down. Lexi never talked to Zach about it and instead just tried to deal with the pain she was suffering inside. Zach, who was clueless, as per all their friends, never knew what caused the change in their relationship. When Lexi comes back to Wishful to help her mom who had an accident, they meet again by chance and everyone can tell that they care for one another. However, both Lexi and Zach are too scared to talk about it and afraid of possibly being embarrassed by telling the other how they truly feel, that they almost lose each other again. If not for their friends and Lexi’s mom who see the connection between the two of them, they may never find each other. This books shows that sometimes you need to ask the question that may cause pain or embarrassment, but it may also bring you a lifetime of happiness and it’s not something that you would want to miss out on. I received an ARC and have voluntarily written a review about it.

I loved this book!! I would give it 10 stars if I could and I don't even give 5 stars very often. Lexi and Zach were best friends then she asked him to prom. Let's just say things didn't go the way her wanted. Fast forward 10 years and Zach is still pretty oblivious to why they drifted apart and he wants his best friend back. Wow just wow. Lexi is so sweet, adorable, cute and clueless to how guys see her - but she still only wants Zach. Too bad he is still clueless - loved how his friends reacted to his cluelessness. The ride was awesome but the ending was amazing!!! This is one book I will keep and re read - I don't do that very often. This author just has a way with words and I have read almost all of her books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

There just aren’t any words to explain how very much I love Wishful. I don’t care if the stories are long or short, I want to read all of them. Zach and Lexi are adorable and tragic together. High school best friends that maybe could have been more at the time if one of them hadn’t been a blithering idiot. I loved watching Zach as he started realizing what he’s been missing in his life. But it hurt my heart every time the pair of them retreated behind their defenses rather than own up to their feelings. I know I’ve made it to the end of this part of their story, but I hope this isn’t the last we’ll read about Zach and Lexi. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.

I Few authors are able to write novellas successfully. Ms. Nolan is one of those talented authors. The story of Lexi Morales an Zach Warren is a sweet, touching romance about lost dreams, the heartaches of young love and the possibility of second chances. It’s also a story about friendships that last a lifetime. Not only are the main characters well developed, but also the plot engaging. Though it’s a standalone, if you have read the previous stories in the series, you’ll get a chance to “visit” with them and see how they are doing. This is another winner in this series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
