*Full Disclosure! This is part of a series, but it able to be read as a stand-alone novel. I did not read any of the prior books in this series* I had a hard time following along for about the first 25% of this book. There were many missing holes that I couldn't quite fill all the way. While I was able to assume what had happened prior to this book, it was still all very fuzzy to me. It took a bit of a learning curve to figure out about the King of the Dark, the Queen of the Light, who/what the Reapers are and what they do, etc. Once you get past that hurdle though, it all starts to piece itself together a bit easier. Once that happens, this became a book that was difficult to put down. We have A LOT of characters coming together in here to fulfill one goal. As we go on this journey, our two MCs just so happen to develop feelings for each other. Character interactions with the side characters were confusing at first, as I couldn't quite piece together right away their personality traits. Like I said before, once it gets rolling it becomes a lot more of a fun read. The romance was quick, the plot was fast-paced, and it was an overall good book. I just believe that there should be more of a warning about reading this as a standalone, as it can be quite confusing to some such as myself. ARC provided to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is Reaper story connecting the worlds of the Dragon Kings and the Fae (Light and Dark). You would be well checking out previous stories to see how the story has progressed to this point. Reapers are assassins brought back to life to fight for Death. Bradach is a Reaper who has to get the help of Maeve the Merciless (a Dark Fae) to find the enemy (Fae Queen Usaeil). This is a love story of two people who can see through the glamour used as protection against getting hurt to the real people underneath. There is a continuation of a war to come that runs through this story and the characters that will play a large part. I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Another great story from the series. I loved it. Maeve and Bradach story is great to read. Dark and Light fall in love. It hard especially for Bradach but he still wants to protect their love. Maeve is great, I love a strong independent woman and she is that and more, she is also kind and knows the difference between right and wrong. And that she hurt U-b.... I f... loved it. A lot of things was discovered and the end will be epic. Great enjoyable read! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Considering Donna Grant is one of my favorite authors, I was pretty sure I was going to love this book. As always, it didn’t disappoint. I loved both Bradach and Maeve. I loved the main overall story as the series is winding up to a battle to take down Usaeil. I can’t wait for the next book!! I highly recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. It has been awhile since reading this series so it was hard to get right into the book. By the first few chapters, I had caught up and was able to understand the characters and really get engrossed in the drama of this book! Bradach has to ask Maeve, a dark, for help and he is not happy but that changes as they work together to search for his friend and later to keep Maeve alive. Lots of action as the back story continues with the fight against the Light queen who really is Dark. It was hard to put the book down as I wanted to see how they were going to make this romance work! Still have a ways to for this struggle to be over, looking forward to the next book in this series!!

3,5 STARS I confess, it's been awhile since I last read this series and I forgot some of what was happening but the more I read the story the more memories came back. So I would definitely recommend to read all of the previous books in this series, just so you don't get lost in what's happening plot wise. And that brings me to the plot of this story. It was all right but I was quite disappointed that nothing really happened with the big picture. The mission Bradach was given by Death, as he is one of her Reapers, was that he finds and I suppose also saves one of Usaeil's aka. the evil queen's prisoners. And that's where the plot let me down big time. Because guess what, nobody gets saved, we get more questions than answers and also half of the plot was wainting on Rhi to save the day, which would be great if she was actually even in the book. But no, all we get is, at least with what I assume will happen, the premise for the next book. This story felt more like a filler to me and while I enjoyed the romance between Bradach and Maeve, I wished for more. Maeve is a great character and I quite like her, so that's why I give this book a three and a half star rating. So will I be reading the next book, well I honestly don't know. Maybe if it's about Rhi but probably not if it's about someone else.

This is one of my all time favorite series. It should be read in the same time line with the Dark Kings series or you will be lost on several of the plot lines and characters. If you read this as a stand alone, you will be disappointed because you won't understand all the characters and the background. It is really worth it to start from the beginning. Donna Grant has created such an incredible world of Dragons, Fae, Warriors, Druids, Reapers, and Humans. This is book 8 of the Reapers. The Reapers are the executioners of Death and Death is the Judge and Jury over the Fae. Bradach, one of Death's Reapers, is sent to get close to a Dark Fae who may have information about some of Usaeil's hiding places, Maeve the merciless. He is so not happy about this assignment, not being a fan of any Dark Fae, but Usaeil has taken a friend of the Reapers and they are hoping to find him before Usaeil kills him or worse.... There is always worse. The story of Bradach and Maeve was a true page turner from start to finish. Donna Grant has given an incredible tale of good and evil and how not everything and everyone is black and white, but a truly blended shade of grey. Well okay.... Usaeil is just plain evil.... I mean... come on.... she just is.. Every good story needs a protagonist of evil. Someone who just plain needs to die for the good of everyone else.. That is Usaeil. I can't recommend the Dragon Kings series and the Reapers series enough. Donna Grant has created an absolutely incredible world and each book in these series just gets better and better.

This was so good. I couldn’t put it down and I loved every second. The last several books I’ve read have been a struggle and have been real work to get through. It was so refreshing to start this one and find the ease and enjoyment that I typically get out of reading. This one wasn’t a chore. It was enjoyable, so passionate, had great characters, and the plot and long-term conflict within the franchise just keeps heating up. The Dark Kings and Reapers world is heating up and war is just around the corner. Can’t wait for more.

A big thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin s Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I like Ms. Grants work but I am not a fan of the Dark King or Fae series. I get confused and frustrated because they seem so connected. I truly feel u need to read them in order. To be honest, I skimmed the book. The characters Madge and Bradach are both interesting, and I liked their story, it's the other stuff that I don't enjoy. I rate this a 3, but I know that the fans of this series will love this book.

I was without a doubt mesmerized by this story between Maeve the Merciless and Bradach the Reaper with its well described battle scenes and depth to the storyline. Author Donna Grant continues creating one of a kind stories that never cease to amaze me and is one of the reasons that I continue to read everything she writes. Maeve is a strong dynamic female warrior who can hold her own with any enemy but it was so heartbreaker watching her deal with someone she loves who betrayed her. What I admired about her character was her integrity while being a dark and how she was admired by so many in higher positions than herself. For a male hero, Bradach didn't stand out as much as Maeve did but he was intriguing and the perfect match for her. He was a strong silent type and very qualified to help protect her but personally I wanted more alpha from him. This was a great read and I really enjoy it and recommend it to everyone who enjoys paranormal romance. This is a 4.5 STAR read.

2.5 Stars for me. Honestly, this could've been a novella. I'm torn between being happy new installments in this saga come out so frequently, and thinking the author should take some time and flesh out a plan for the overall story. Once again the leads were cool, but the ongoing story and conflict need work. I am not quitting this series, but I still am really hoping for major improvements in the next installment.

Is there any hope for a dark fae that isn't all that evil? Bradach has promised to follow Death no matter what so when he has to spend time with a dark fae he has no choice but to go. But he is confused by Maeve as she calls to him and he can't allow the dark back into his life. He needs her help but he knows that danger will follow but can he protect Maeve from the light queen when she finds out that she has been betrayed? Maeve knows that there is something different about Bradach and she knows that she doesn't know anything about him but her king has said that she can trust him. But he is hiding something and she fears that she could be falling for him but she can't allow that to happen as she needs to keep her wits about her if she is to survive. Will they be able to escape with their lives and will they have a chance at a life together? Bradach knows that they need to strike now as Usaeil is getting stronger and Rhi will need to step up to the plate before it is too late. But everyone except Death fears that she won't be ready we will need to wait and see what is coming. Where is Con now? A great read. It is time for her to fall and I can't wait. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.

DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION is the eighth instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary adult REAPERS paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is Reaper Bradach, and Dark Fae business woman Maeve the Merciless’ story line. The REAPERS is a spin off from Donna’s DARK KINGS series which is a spinoff from Donna’s DARK WARRIOR series which in turn is a spin off from Donna’s DARK SWORD series- all set in the Highlands of Scotland. You do not have to have read any of the previous series to understand the premise but many of the events overlap with the events of the Dark Kings. DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion. DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION unites the Dragon Kings in their search SOME BACKGROUND: The Reapers (believed to be a folk lore amongst the Fae) are a group of Dark and Light Fae, selected by Death (aka Erith), on their own deathbed, to do her bidding-Death is the judge and jury; the Reapers are the executioners. The Reapers are not harbingers of death, but are tasked with destroying the Light and Dark Fae who have crossed a line from which there is no return. All Reapers must follow two rules: never to fall in love; and never to reveal their existence to anyone. If you have read Donna’s DARK KINGS series you will recognize the familiarity between the two series as both follow a similar plot and premise including betrayal by one of their own. Told from dual third person perspectives (Bradach and Maeve) DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION follows Reaper Bradach as he is tasked with locating the only surviving descendant of the Light Fae Queen Usaeil. Missing and presumed imprisoned, Xaneth’s whereabouts are unknown. The Reapers are desperate so they send in Bradach to search for the Fae but Bradach needs help in locating Xaneth and looks to an unlikely friend for help. Enter Maeve, a Dark Fae who may or may not know the last known location of the Light Fae Queen. With the help of the Dark Kings, who themselves are searching for one of their own, Maeve and Bradach go in search for Xaneth only to come face to face with a creature created to destroy them all. Maeve the Merciless keeps secret her past, a past that has forced our heroine to use glamor whenever she is in the open or public. With the recommendation of Balladyn, the King of the Dark, Bradach employs Maeve in his search for the missing Fae, a search that will push Maeve and Bradach together towards their own happily ever after. DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION is another revealing and intriguing instalment as the author continues to build towards the denouement of several interconnected series including the Dark Kings, the Reapers, Dark Sword and the Dark Warriors. We learn how Bradach came to be a Reaper-the betrayal and heart break; the circumstances surrounding the decision to keep the Light Fae Queen alive, and Usaeil’s spiral out of control as she ascends into a madness for power and control.

I recently discovered this series and I'm loving every instalment. The character development, the amazing world building and the engrossing plot made love this book as much as I loved the previous instalment. I think that Ms Grant can surely write a book that will keep you hooked and I look forward to reading her next work. Highly recommended! Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

In Dark Alpha's Redemption, the Dragon King's take a backseat as the story delves into a love story between a reaper and a dark fae. Bradach is a Reaper on a mission to find a missing friend. Using a Dragon King for an introduction, Bradach ventures into Maeve the Merciless's domain. Maeve stepped up to run her father's business and created a ruthless reputation to survive when he was murdered. Trust no one has been drilled into her head after countless betrayals but she is instantly intrigued by the strange fae asking for help. Bradach hates the dark fae with good reason but sees something in Maeve that feels like fate. Fighting the good fight and trying to stop the dark fae who masquerades as a light fae queen, Bradach and Maeve win a hard fought HEA. The continuing saga with the Dragon Kings flow smoothly in the background and familiar characters make cameo appearances. Tough as nails, Maeve is memorable heroine that kicks butt in her own right for a enjoyable action-packed romance. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Dark Alpha's Redemption is another great addition to the Reaper series. The hero and the heroine have great chemistry and the supporting cast (as usual) don't disappoint. It's a world full of mystery and complicated twists and turns so I'd highly recommend reading the series in order or the reader will be confused. I can't wait for the next book.

Bradach has never once strayed from his path, his duty as an elite assassin to Death driving him forward. However, Maeve’s intelligence, cunning and determination challenges him in ways that he never imagined. While finding out what she knows is key to learning how to conquer their enemy, the Dark Fae is unlike anything he’s ever known and he will risk trusting the dark. For her…he battle darkness itself. The newest book in the ‘Reaper’ series is an emotionally gripping and stunningly exciting one that has pushing reality to the side and remaining in this fascinating world. As usual, the characters are strong, bold and stand out, grabbing readers’ attention from the get go and the romance between Bradach and Maeve is full of angst, passion, sizzling chemistry and sweet romance. The emotional turmoil throughout the relationship revolves around them having trust each other, let go hatreds from the past and listening to what their hearts have already told them and readers can certainly understand where they are coming from and why they feel the way they do. The plot is fast paced and full of nail biting suspense and adrenaline pumping excitement as Bradach and Maeve try to discover some Usaeil’s secrets in order to rescue an Xaneth who is the Reaper’s ally and Con, the King of the Dragon Kings. During their search they also discover more about Usaeil’s trackers and they set out to discredit her among her own people to prepare for war, this adds additional thrills and excitement to the story and readers really can’t help but enjoy this stunning, heart pounding addition to the series that challenges a Reaper’s heart.
