Two years after the tenth anniversary of Dirty Dancing, RCA released Dirty Dancing: The Collector's Edition, which combined the two soundtrack albums in one deluxe package. There is no new music or remastering -- just straight reissues of the soundtracks themselves. The packaging is a simulated leather double-pack, containing a booklet that boasts nothing but color-tinted stills from the film. In other words, it's the kind of package that is only of interest to hardcore fans of the film. Anyone else will be satiated with the original soundtrack albums -- or just the first Dirty Dancing soundtrack, which contains all the hits, plus the most prominent oldies from the film (with the notable exception of the Contours' "Do You Love Me").

I was so excited when I saw there was a vinyl buying option for this album, but when it arrived I was extremely disappointed. The vinyl skipped in several different places and one was so bad I had to skip the rest of the song entirely. This is the second time I have had a vinyl skip from Barnes and Noble.
I have been watching this movie and listening to the music for years. I can still pinpoint exactly what is happening durring each song. Many movies make the music big, but in Dirty Dancing the movie would never have made it big w/out the music. I love this soundtrack and always will.
Ive seen this movie over 400 times easy! will you marry me Patrick? I just love the way he thrusts his hips and wiggles his behind. If you love to dance get yourself a copy, you'll love it. I learned every routine in the movie!!!!!!
A very fun and feel good soundtrack that will give you an emotional boost and leave you feeling happy. This cd is a wonderful medley of various songs from various genres that make you think of summer fun and carefree good times where you enjoy yourself and have fun with those you care about. The soundtrack has a wide range of good songs. Some of my favorite songs on the cd are "I've Had the time of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warner, "Hungry Eyes "by Eric Carmen, and "She's like the Wind" by Patrick Swayze and Eric Fraser. What is really special about the "She's Like the Wind" song was something that it served as a special dedication from Patrick Swayze to his wife when he was still alive. I find this beautiful and heartwarming because it is obvious that the late Patrick Swayze and his wife shared true and lasting love because they were married from 1975 until this year when he passed away. If you are open to various musical genres that leave you feel free and energetic then please purchase this cd. This cd is one of the classics that only gets better with time.
I love this soundtrack becuase the classic music and great dance rhythms set the tone for the movie, which I love. Fav tracks: She's Like the Wind, Hey Baby and Hungry Eyes. Definately worth it!!!
I watched the movie for the first time recently and I loved it. The music in the last scene when the two dance at the end-of-season dance, was so cool. It was running through my head long after the movie was over. Nothing like the music nowadays... That has become one of my fav movies. This soundtrack is the perfect compliment to it!
OMG!!!!!!!!That was the best dance movie ever! Ican't wait till i get my own copy which i have purchased on line. I wish Patrick Swayze was my age I would love to dance with someone like that!!!I would dance 4ever!!!!!
I love the Dirty Dancing sound track as much as the movie it has some of the best oldies on it. My favorite song is I've Had the Time of My Life it makes me cry every time I watch Jennifer Grey and Pratick dance at the end of the movie!
