My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 unicorns - I loved it!! ***Received ebook from Belle Books for an honest review The cover has also recently had a makeover with the rest of the covers, and it is a marked improvement.  I love it!!  Very sexy!! This is Duncan’s story, Raphael’s right hand man.  He is now out on his own.  Duncan is definitely putting out Alpha male vibes in this story.  Lots of action like all of D.B.’s stories.  Emma is way stronger than me considering everything life has thrown at her.  I think I like Emma almost as much as I like Cyn.  I hope they will get to see them adventuring and causing mischief together. D.B.’s writing style is awesome.  She is descriptive and detailed and gets you sucked right into the story.  I have no problem imagining the picture as I read. This series is really fabulous.  I haven’t read one yet that I haven’t loved :)  I haven’t loved vampires this much since I discovered the Argeneau series.  If you loved that series, you must read this one :) I will absolutely be reading more of D.B. stories as often as I can :)

Duncan was a secondary character since book one in the series and I always had a soft spot for him. That he has his own book thrills me! - and it was an excelent book, the kind Duncan deserves! The venue, this time, is Washington, DC, a town that also keeps my interest (I'd love to know this town), so it was just one more elemento that made my interest grows. In a world of depravity, Duncan will have to fight some enemies and the tension grows until an end where he discovers and fights an unexpected enemy. All this while falling in love with Emma and helping her in her vengeance against her best friend's murderer. I just missed Raphael and Cyn in this novel. The epilogue with Lucas made my heart beat faster and next week he'll be my next boyfriend! ;)

The Lieutenant becomes a Lord!!!!! There is no denying that I have loved Vampires in America by D.b. Reynolds since its beginning. The loyalty and devotion of Raphael's Lieutenant DUNCAN has been apparent in every book written, his dedication to the Vampire lord never questioned. So what happens when it's time for this powerful right hand man to venture out and face the greatest challenge of his very long life. Readers of this series have always known there would be something big in DUNCAN's future, so here's your chance to find out what in store for the deliciously dangerous DUNCAN. No spoilers her, just a genuine recommendation from a reader who has followed and loved EVERY book written by D.B.Reynolds!

I loved this book. D.B. Reynolds certainly knows how to spin a very good tale. Duncan Milford, Raphael's trusted second has taken the Washington DC Territory from Victor, a corrupt vampire lord. The story begins with a high action vampire-to-vampire duel for supremacy and, of course, Duncan won. As he is straightening up the after battle carnage, a lovely human, Emma Duquet who came to the "vampire embassy", seeking help in locating her friend Lacey. The story picked up from there. It wasn't a fast paced read but it was very evenly paced to keep the reader engaged. As the story unfolded, the reader is introduced into a vampire/political underworld of degradation and depravity. I appreciated this story, because unlike Sophia, there was very little of Raphael and Cyn in this story. Duncan's character was strong enough that he could carry the book alone, with little to no influence from the stars of the Vampires in America series. I love them madly but it was nice to have them be very remote and removed secondary characters. Bravo Ms. Reynolds...Outstanding job! I look forward to reading about Lucas. So.........are you finished that book yet? :).
