Jonathan Liebesman's horror film Darkness Falls makes its debut on DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1, and is preferable to the standard full-frame image. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include commentary from many of the people involved in the production, deleted scenes, a making-of featurette, and comparisons of storyboards to the finished image. This is a solid release that will please fans of the film as well as genre enthusiasts.
