This person has absolutly NO clue as to what makes a good TV series, a good Star Trek spin-off, or a good plot. You see this series has what is call CHARACTER PROGRESSION. Not only is Deep Space 9 one of the most well written shows in history, it happens to be THE BEST Star Trek franchise EVER. It is quite aparent that "REAL trekie" is a closed minded right wing biggot who has no concept of what the Star Trek universe tries to portray. He/she is way off base with that "opinion".

This set seems to be missing Episode Five: Babel. Why Is that? Without it, it's not complete.

If you are a real Trekie you will like this show. Even if it is the worst of the other Star Trek shows you should watch it because if you like star trek you will like this.

Deep space nine offers a look into the darker grittier underbelly of the future as opposed to the utopias in TOS and TNG. Themes merely hinted at in the previous series are investigated with more depth than any of the other series even dared. The story lines are ongoing and after the first season things really get going. It's a worthy investment for any fan of the series who likes their Trek a little more on the real side. I always wondered what a Trek world would be like with more human motivations involved (racism, greed, power, sex, love, revenge, war, religion, etc.) and DS9 delivers. It's more of a serial than loosely related episodes.

Deep Space Nine is the best of the Star Trek series, reaching a depth in terms of characters that none of the other ST series met. Its depiction of war was one of the most moving I've ever seen.

I know that it has been said time and again but truly this was the best. The characters had depth, changed, grew and had multiple sides to their characters (good and bad). The story arcs made sense and were complicated but in a realistic and interesting way. How refreshing!?! I really have missed the show and wish it would come back in the movies. But, alas it maybe too complicated for standard Hollywood fare.

Just because Star Trek fans are typically teased, you should not snub your nose this show is GREAT. Just watch a few in a row and it just turns out to be a sci-fi version of a good soap opera. The characters have strong reactions to lost love and personal turmoil like any other good drama. It doesn't matter if you don't understand the technobabble! Just please, please give it a try.

This is with out a doubt in my mind the worst Star Trek Series ever. Anyone who actually has standards should agree with me. But if you like disgusting, left-wing, and imoral plot lines you'll love it.
