Robert Minkoff's family film Stuart Little comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include: a commentary track recorded by the director with help from the animation supervisor; a pair of featurettes (one promotional and one about the special effects); screen tests; an early concept reel of the work with commentary from the director; trailers; bloopers; and a smattering of extras for those with access to a DVD-ROM drive. With the glaring exception of the full-frame image, this is a superb disc from Columbia TriStar.

If you are looking for a movie that will make you smile Stuart Little is a perfect choice. This movie asks us to use our imagination and forget reality for a while. Stuart is addorable and the other animals (especially Snowbell) will make you laugh. The voices are a perfect fit, particularly Michael J. Fox and Nathan Lane. The movie also teaches a valuable lesson about firends, family and relationships. Pull up a chair, pop some popcorn and have fun watching this one. It is a winner!
