Frank Oz (the voice of Miss Piggy and numerous other Muppets) directed The Muppets Take Manhattan, which comes to DVD with a pair of images. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and is preferable to the standard full-frame transfer. English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese soundtracks are all rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. Subtitles are available in all four of those languages, as well as Chinese, Thai, and Korean. Supplemental materials include trailers and an interview with Muppet creator Jim Henson. This is a fine release from Columbia/TriStar. More could have been done, but this release will please fans of the film and its furry stars.

I watch this movie with my little eight month old son- and he loves it. It's the only thing that quiets him down when he is fussy. Still a classic and enjoyable for both children and adults. - Noga Rosenthal
