Overview

The family-friendly drama The Silver Stallion is granted a DVD release mostly because it features early work from future Oscar winner Russell Crowe. The disc presents the film in a standard full-frame transfer. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, but this inexpensive title may provide a point of interest to Crowe enthusiasts.

Out of all the horse movies I've seen, this movie by far is my favorite. What grabbed me the most about this film was the breath taking scenes, the dramatic music score and of course, the magnificent and graceful animals used in this film. All in all on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 20!! Also, my mare is due to have a foal in the fall and I am naming it after a horse from the movie!!

I've read nearly all the books in this series and really enjoyed them all. I thought if I saw the movie it might cloud my judgment of the books and characters (as so many films derived from books do) but it didn't at all. I thoroughly enjoyed this film; it diserves all the stars it can get!

Like I said I really don't like horse movies but this movie stands out from all others as a realistic account of the interaction between the people in the story and the horses. From the very beginning of the movie you are drawn into the story and once you are you can't stop watching and I found that I didn't want it to end. I also felt some empathy for the characters and what each one experiences as the story evolves. I highly reccomend this as a must see for every family to enjoy together. Get the popcorn and snuggle up together to watch this one!

This is the best movie about horses I have ever seen! The cinematography is spetacular, the horses beautiful, and the scenery breathtaking! There are not a lot of movies out there that are all about the horse, not just the people in it. I hate those movies that you get, thinking it's all about a horse when it turns out to be some sappy movie about PEOPLE, and the horse is just a prop. Not this movie! The people are just co-stars here, and I like that in a horse movie. The music score sends chills up my spine; I just love it! I really like Thara, the Silver Stallion; he such a pretty horse. I hope I get the video for Christmas. If you want to see a REAL,GUINUINE Horse movie, GET The Silver Stallion-King of the Wild Brumbies,NOW! :-)

When I first saw this movie when I was seven I absolutely loved it, and it still stands as one of my favorite movies now as a thirteen-year-old. Its an unforgettable story and deserves my recognition than it has.

I am a dedicated horseback rider and horselover! I love movies that really present the horse for who he is. And I dont like movies that have a whole lot of things that wouldn't be able to happen... This movie is very realistic. It could happen and there are wild brumbies... everything they said about the horses is true! I love this movie.. i watch it like everyday... and the music sends chills down my spine. I Only regret that they do not have a CD for this movie.

I loved the movie. I have watched it hundreds of times over the years and still enjoy it. It has mystery mixed in with cleverness. I would say anyone who loves horses would love this movie. My friends all enjoy it and they never say no when I ask if they want to watch it again. So go try it out and see if you like it as much as I do!
