Overview

An extraordinary Lucas Davenport thriller from #1 New York Times–bestselling author and Pulitzer Prize winner John Sandford.

After the events in Gathering Prey, Lucas Davenport finds himself in a very unusual situation—no longer employed by the Minnesota BCA. His friend the governor is just cranking up a presidential campaign, though, and he invites Lucas to come along as part of his campaign staff. “Should be fun!” he says, and it kind of is—until they find they have a shadow: an armed man intent on killing the governor...and anyone who gets in the way.

Good book but it would be nice if you lay off the comments about the Republicans some after all we like to read your books too.

I remember when not everyone who disagreed with liberals were "racist bigots", and funnily enough, there actually were real racist bigots then.

Another great book in a series of great books. Thank you Mr. Sanford for Lucas Davenport and all of his friends and family. Couldn't ask for a better group of people to keep me entertained!

The best book in years from Sandford. The weather in New Mexico must agree with him. We miss him in Minnesota, but if it means books this good, he should have moved years ago. Action, a good story, suspense - what more could you want.? I hated to have it end.

Couldn't put it down, as evidenced by my just finishing at 4:30 am. Gripping edge of your seat. Can't believe they dragged a baby thru all of this.

Couldn't put it down. As usual, subtle humor ameliorates bloody action. Can't wait for the next one.

Typical Sanford. Can't put it down.

Please Mr. Sandford get Lucas a badge and out of Iowa. I think every motel, diner, and state highway in Iowa was mentioned at least once so at least I never have to visit that state. Side note ..... while I like Mark Harman as Jethro Gibbs, he's not Lucas Davenport.

Another great Davenport book. Different circumstances for Lucas in story helped keep it fresh and interesting. The characters are very well done. Hard to put the book down, had to see what happened next.

Felt much more in line with the prey series than the last book. Good to see it back on track.

Disappointed. I don't find this to be one of his better books. Far too much political bias. I want to read a good book, like in the past. Struggled at times just to get through this one. Definitely not one of his best. I've stopped reading Stuart Woods books because of all the political bias and "wordy, poor " storylines. One more book like this from Mr Sanford and I'm done. Earlier books were better by far

I dont think John Sanford could write a bad book. That's why he's one of my all time favorite authors. This book is just as well written and exciting as all the others, and I've read them all! Looking forward to what happens next now that he has s badge again.

The Prey series never seems to disappoint. All are very well crafted. There are a few that are not as strong as the others bit I have received many enjoyable reads from this amazing writer. Eagerly looking forward to reading the future adventures of Lucas as a U.S. Marshall. J. M. Lydon
