Book Two of the Daddy School series, originally published in 1997. Arlington, Connecticut police detective John Russo is responsible to a fault. When his girlfriend got pregnant, he married her. When she walked out on the marriage, he committed himself to raising their son himself. But when his baby-sitter has a family emergency and must fly to California, John's carefully rigged existence comes crashing down. He needs help, and fast.

Molly Saunders co-founded the Daddy School to help men become better fathers. She wants to help John, not just by providing a space for his two-year-old son in her preschool but also by teaching him how to deal with his son's demands--and teaching him that despite the occasional brutality of his work, he can still be a loving, vulnerable man. When it comes to learning the skills he needs to raise his son well, John is an A student. But Molly's lessons in love prove much more challenging. Can a man who conceals a gun inside his undercover Santa Claus costume actually be the gentle, sensitive man of Molly's dreams?

This book felt a bit edgier than the first in the series, but it also felt right this way since the main characters are a cop and the owner of a preschool. There is a connection between John and Molly as soon as they meet, when John is trying to find safe and reliable care for his 2 year old son, Michael. They also had some issues between them, being a cop is a difficult job every day. Being in charge of a bunch of preschool aged children also has some major challenges. This story is about John and Molly trying to make it work, for them and for Michael. I think Michael makes the biggest strides behavior wise, and Molly and John learned acceptance and compromise are a daily challenge. Once again I love the idea of the daddy school, honestly think they should be available to all new dad's. I just enjoyed this book so much, there were ups and downs, but it worked out pretty nicely by the end.

A 190 page story and second in series of a police detective and responsible single father of a two year old toddler, and his encounter with Daddy School........ and the teacher.... and her problems with his gun. Some adult language and an explicit sex scene in this soap opera romance. An excerpt for mext in series is also included.

Book 2 in the series show you how bad assuming and judging people can take you to believe something soooooo far from the truth. Watching Molly and John navigate the muddy waters and their personal hang ups is refreshing.

This book shows how single fathers have the same obstacles and rewards as a single mother. I think the Daddy School would be a great idea for real life. A very enjoyable read.
