Fern Majestic leads a solitary life as a blacksmith in the small village of Burdensville in the Kingdom of Loustof. His solitude, however, is not by choice. The name Majestic has been declared Traitor by the ruler of Loustof, King Edinword. Unbeknownst to Fern, his life will forever change on an early spring morning.
As the only man willing to protect his village, Fern finds himself in an all-too-familiar place as he faces a dragon attack. Immediately following his triumph over the fire-breathing beast, the counselor to the king, Mallock, arrests him and brings him before the king. Accused of killing the king’s personal pet, Fern is forced to fight for his life against a centaur in an arena battle deep within the dungeons of Loustof. But as he soon learns, this was just a test of his abilities to see if he was worthy of King Edinword’s quest. The King’s son and heir to the throne, Timal, has gone missing in the Crags of Malice west of their kingdom. With Mallock as his guide, Fern must rescue Timal and bring him safely home. But there is more than just rescue behind the King’s intentions. Fern soon finds himself trapped in a series of conspiracies (one of which involves dragon’s blood) and comes face-to-face with his shrouded past. With the help of some unlikely companions, false allies are revealed, and the true enemy comes forth. The fate of Fern’s world lands solely on his shoulders, and he must choose to save his newfound friends or sacrifice his world to the rule of evil.

About the Author
James H. Stevens is a US Army disabled veteran, devoted father and husband, and debut author. As a former soldier, Stevens combined his firsthand experiences in the US Army and his lifelong enthusiasm for all things fantasy in this magnificently multifaceted story of magic and friendship. The relationships and bonds he made with his fellow soldiers add to the richly layered characters that fill each page.
Stevens is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Tromping through streams and rivers and enjoying nature are just a few of his loves in life; the first is his wife, who, although not a fan of fantasy, supports his passion for writing. Calling Northern Virginia home, he and his wife split their time between raising their children and building their careers. Fern Majestic and the Fall of a Dragon is his first novel.
