Lacking the rootsier edge of Save His Soul, Four finds Blues Traveler retreating to the band's standard blues-boogie formula. There are some fine songs here on this solid record, including their breakthrough hit single, "Run-Around."

this blues traveler album is the only real main stream album, but it is a great overview of one of the most creative bands of the past decade. this album got me hooked and allowed the world of blues rock to enter into my life. if you like ''four'' check out blues travelers other albums and john popper's ''zygote''

This CD is great! I love Run Around & Hook. Just the sound of the entire CD is great. The lyrics rule & I found myself in some of what they say. I'd say buy this, but I'm a weirdo & I actually like this stuff. It's your money, I blew mine on it, and I enjoyed the hell out of it!

The first album I ever bought with my own money. I had a cold, was wearing pajamas under my street clothes to keep warm, had just bought and Orange Julius for its citrusy healing powers, and was ready to keel over from not enough sleep. I had a learner's permit, and it was the first time that I had driven myself to the mall. Didn't own a portable cd player, just had a computer with a new-fangled cd-rom. Bought Four, got home, didn't play the singles, but listened to it all the way through. The album really is a journey. From one end of its compass to the other, it investigates many powerful themes and does justice to them all. They retain that wonderful jam sensibility, but with direction and purpose, and each player is wonderfully skilled and connected. Looking back, this is the album that helped invest my attention in music. After buying Four, I was always looking around for something that inspired, regardless of the genre. Blues Traveler is my favorite contemporary band, and my second favorite of all time following The Beatles, so I fervently implore those of you with an interest in their sound to get this album. You wont regret it.
