"My name is Kaeleen Donovan. I'm a Theosian-a minor goddess. They call me Fury."

By day, I run the Crossroads Cleaning Company, and I also read fortunes and cast hexes at Dream Wardens, a magical consulting shop. But by night, I'm oath-bound to Hecate, goddess of the Crossroads. Hecate charged me from birth with the task of hunting down Abominations who come in off the World Tree and sending them back to Pandoriam.

When the Thunderstrike-an ancient artifact from the time of the Weather Wars-is stolen by the Order of the Black Mist, Hecate orders me to find the magical device. The chaos magicians are out to upset the balance that Gaia instilled during the World Shift. But I soon discover that the leader of the Black Mist is out to do more than stir up trouble-he's looking to set up a new world order with himself on the throne. Caught between two rival forces, will my friends and I be able to survive as we search for the Thunderstrike and attempt to stop a war that could bring about the end of civilization?

Fury is a great character in line with the rest of Ms. Galenorn's work. I started with the Otherworld series, and since then have been introduced to Bewitching Bedlam, The Wild Hunt, and now Fury. I have loved all of your writing, and can't wait for more to be released!

I am reading Galernorn's Sisters of the Moon, or The Otherworld Series, and when I found out about this series, I decided to check it out. Galenorn once again creates a world of magic and the mundane beautifully blend into a new world where not only the Fae roam, werewolves and other shifters exist, but Gods and Goddesses from many myths are alive and well. And like her Otherworld, the world Kay inhabited came about with its own magical bang. Of course, every good series needs a heroine or hero, and of course a villain of some sort. Kay is a Theosian, specifically a Fury. So her life is complicated. She serves the Goddess Hecate, but has a semblance of a normal life, side jobs to keep the rent paid and food on the table. As the story progresses, the rollercoaster rides begins, between Kay's past, the world changing threat that looms over them all, and its all balanced with the characters lives as they intersect and life itself throws its own curve balls, good and bad, as the ride continues and by the end, you realize you want to follow these characters and see where life takes them. I book that's worth the time to read and a promise of a good series.

Loved this! I've been seeing a lot of something-bad-happened-and-now-everything-we-know-about-the-world-has-changed plot lines lately, so I admit to starting Fury Rising with a raised eyebrow and doubt in my heart. I really should have known better! Once the characters were established, the story started off with a bang, and I raced through to the end. Can't wait until November for Fury's Magic!!!

Fury Rising is book one in the Fury Unbound series. When I saw that YGalenorn was releasing a book with mythology mixed in heavily I knew I had to grab it. In this book, the main character is a Theosian, a minor goddess that does the bidding for Hecate, the goddess of the Crossroads. And as you can imagine her missions aren't always easy going. So we start the book meeting Kaeleen Donovan aka Fury, the Theosian (minor goddess). She's out searching for Abominations, soul eaters that are on the prowl for their latest victim. They're hard to take down but Fury isn't one to shirk her duties. She does some other missions from Hecate and we even get face time with the goddess which I was glad to see. The main event is when Hecate tasks her in finding the Thunderstrike, an ancient artifact that has weather magic. Someone stole it and is wreaking havoc with it around their city. The gods and goddesses will not be pleased and Fury has to find it before the goddess Gaia decides to wipe out human kind. In a rich, new environment, Fury Rising is the start of a promising new series. Like YGalenorn's other work, this book is Urban Fantasy with romance aspects intertwined. My favorite bits are the strong friendships the main character always has, as well as the fight scenes. It's not easy on Fury, but it's nice to see her support system backing her at every step. This series has a bit of every paranormal I could ask for including fae, shifters and gods/goddesses. I really enjoyed seeing all the different types of characters. On the romance aspect, I know who I'm rooting for, though there is a slight love triangle feel in the story. But while Fury might have a huge crush on one character I don't think it will work out. We'll see where it goes in the future, though. I do hope we get face time with more gods/goddesses in the next book, I can't wait to see where the series leads. All in all, if you're a fan of YGalenorn's work, or like Urban Fantasy with romance mixed in I think you'd love this book!

Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest and truthful opinion. I have not received any other compensation other than the book. Here's my review: I'm always hesitant when I start to read new series and new characters, even if it's by the same author. Yasmine Galenorn has definitely outdone herself in her new indie series. In Fury Rising, we meet Kaeleen, a Theosian-a minor goddess who sets out to find an ancient artifact stolen by the Order of the Black Mist. We're introduced to a brand new world and new challenges. Yasmine focuses on great detail, bringing Fury and her world to life. What's not to love about journeying to a new world and getting lost in it? This book is the first in Yasmine's indie work and I believe we'll definitely be seeing more of Kaeleen's world soon. I can't wait for book 2.

Yasmine Galenorn has always been a favorite author of mine and she has surpassed herself yet again in this first book of a new series. I can't wait to see where this series goes as well as her other new series!

DISCLAIMER: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review..... Post apocalyptic stories aren't my favorite in the world but this series may very well be the start of me changing my mind. Yasmine's books have always been dear to me and this one is no exception. Kae is a devoted follower of the Goddess Hecate and is commanded to find The Thunderstrike and return it before it used to destroy what's left of the world. At times the story was a little hard to follow but that could be because I don't generally like post apocalyptic stories. But all in all a great start to the series :)
