Gone in 60 Seconds [Original Soundtrack]

Overview

It’s all about the adrenaline, baby. That’s the "message" (to use the term loosely) behind the big-budget remake of the ‘70s trash-cinema classic "Gone in 60 Seconds." Its soundtrack gets the heart racing too -- it’s rife with swagger, strut, and sonics that leave subtlety in the dust. While the album is somewhat disjointed in its stylistic content -- metal, techno, and hip-hop artists stake out separate but equal territories -- the unifier is the (bad) attitude, which hyper-charges everything from Ice Cube’s "Roll All Day" to Citizen King’s anti-anthem "Better Days (and Then the Bottom Drops Out)." The freshest sounds come from the hip-hop camp, with the on-the-money rhyme handoffs between Method Man and Redman on "Da Rockwiler" and the smoldering flow DMX delivers on "Party Up." Moby, who checks in with the typically head-turning sounds of "Flower," and the Chemical Brothers, who spike the proceedings with the loopy "Leave Home," make for some interesting listening, but some of the set’s rock material, like Gomez’s breathy "Machismo," sounds stilted in comparison. If you’re looking purely to pump up the volume, however, GONE IN 60 SECONDS will hotwire your synapses.

In the movie credits it lists Crystal Method's Busy Child as being in the movie, which it is, but its not on the soundtrack...too bad, it would fit perfectly with all the other cool tracks...definately awesome !
