Good News! It's Easter! by Glenys Nellist This is a wonderful books about beginnings of spring and the message of Easter with the return of Jesus. It starts with the tulip from bulb to bloom. Then goes to the Monarch Butterfly going from caterpillar to butterfly. It has other things that evolve in it too and also teaches the children about how one thing can become another. It ends with Jesus coming from the cave. I find this book good to hold a childs interest and spark some curiosity of nature and how one thing can become another. It shows the beauty of spring and Easter time but also gives the message of the true meaning of Easter. I found the illustrations to be vivid and attractive to any child. I recommend the book to 3+ and would be a great Easter story book for Sunday School.

A beautifully written book about appreciating the small changes in life. Growing and making yourself better day by day. It was very sweet and the illustrations are colorful and well done. This book would be a great addition to a Sunday school setting, church groups or catholic schools. I do wish the cover showed that this story involves Jesus, but it wouldn't stop me from reading it to my children. Netgalley provided me this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a very simple, yet cute book about all the new beginnings that happen in spring from flowers to trees and bunnies to chicks, we see new growth. The best beginning of all is the rebirth or resurrection of Jesus. My granddaughter enjoyed this one and loved the illustrations. She liked being able to help "read the story" because she knew the animals as well as knowing that the person at the end was Jesus. The interesting thing to me was that the word Easter, is not mentioned in the story. This would be a great book to put in a young child's Easter basket. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley upon my request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

Easter Wonders for Children! This darling oversized board book takes children on a tour of the miracles going on in the world around them. Flowers dressed in pretty colors pop out of the dark earth into the sunshine. Caterpillars enter cocoons to come out as butterflies with beautiful wings that glide through the air. The best news of all, Jesus comes out of the tomb to give everyone who believes in Him the gift of a forever home in Heaven—and Easter is born. Children will find enchanting verses that captures spring’s exciting new beginnings with things such as jumping frogs and hopping bunnies. The author tells the story beautifully in language simple enough for little children to understand. Small hands can easily grip the thick pages while looking at the beautifully colored illustrations throughout the volume. This would be a nice addition to an Easter basket, or a gift at any time. Despite the book being about Easter and spring, it is a fun story little ones will want to read year-round. This is the first in a series of three books, and I highly recommend this enchanting five-star book to the young children in your life. Discovery House of Our Daily Bread Ministries has provided bookreadingtic with a complimentary copy of Good News! It’s Easter!, for the purpose of review. I have not been compensated in any other manner. All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required, or influenced, to give anything but an honest appraisal. I bought this for my niece who is 2 and she loved it! Wonderful words and illustrations that speak to the “new beginnings” around us each spring—flowers, bunnies, trees and the best “beginning” of all—Jesus’s resurrection. Beautiful way to explain the wonder of Easter to a young child. This would be a perfect Easter basket book! I received an electronic ARC of the book from Net Galley and ordered a Board Book version. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Glenys Nellist captures the wonder of Easter using familiar signs of spring as little ones observe new life after a long winter. And new life is what Easter is all about. Lizzie Walkley's clear and bright illustrations hint of new life on each successive page. My favorite is the awakening crysalis on the oak branch revealing a monarch butterfly as the page is turned. This story of new beginnings springs forth through the flowers, animals, trees, insects, birds, water life and culminates in the One who makes all creation new--Jesus who rose from the grave. I find it difficult to find true Easter stories with a resurrection theme for children. Good News! It's Easter will be a sweet addition to your little one's library.
