Are you looking for more in a one year Bible? Do you want to see and learn more about God’s grace and love throughout the Bible? This new edition of Grace Through the Ages™ combines the acclaimed daily devotionals found in the first edition with the corresponding daily Bible readings from Old or New Testament, or the Psalms or the Proverbs. Each devotional is designed to illuminate one portion of each day’s Bible study, whether from the Old or New Testament, or the Psalms or Proverbs. The goal is to see God’s kindness and grace in a multitude of places and to provoke thought and meditative reflection on that day’s Bible passage. It is more than just a commentary on a one year Bible, but a means to better understand and appreciate how God’s words reveal the depths of his heart and attitude toward his children. The Bible versions used in this edition are based upon the NET translation.

About the Author

William P. Smith (MDiv., Ph.D.) serves as Pastor of Shepherding Ministries with Chelten Baptist Church in Dresher, Pennsylvania (a Philadelphia suburb). Bill is a devotional writer and speaker with a practical edge who desires to see the church liberated to grow and mature as God’s people increasingly experience their Lord through the ways he relates to them.
His passion to help people experience God’s invitation to deeper relationship led him to author Caught Off Guard: Encounters with the Unexpected God, a popular level book which draws an irresistible picture of the heart of God that helps readers in the midst of their daily struggles. His upcoming book, Loving Well (Even if You Haven’t Been) to be released in 2011, investigates how the way we love others flows organically from our experience of being first loved by God. In addition, he is the author of several booklets in the New Growth Press/CCEF series on resources for personal and family change and several articles in the Journal of Biblical Counseling.
While serving as a faculty member for 10 years at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF), Bill taught seminary level courses in practical theology both regionally and internationally. He also served in shorter term capacities as the associate editor of the Journal of Biblical Counseling and as the director of the distance education programs of CCEF.
As Pastor of Shepherding Ministries Bill counsels individuals and families, oversees the spiritual formation and development for interns and staff of the church’s Counseling Center, and provides pastoral input to the leaders of the support groups and small groups of Chelten. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Practical Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary.
Bill and his wife, Sally, have two young sons and a daughter who keep them delightfully busy!
