About the Author

After focusing on technical and historical writing, Richard moved to Florida and turned his attention to writing novels, taking his passion for history with him. All his novels are based on actual events and real persons—their trials and challenges, their good decisions and their bad. His novels can best be described by a comment during his introduction at a North Florida Writer’s Conference. “Don’t expect the same old novel with different characters and a surprising twist that makes everything work. Expect real people in real situations, with real talents and real shortcomings.”

His novels include:
Valley of the Ancients - The heroine must let go of a dream that can never come true and the hero must face a ghost from his past when the Japanese attack Dutch Harbor, Alaska during the Second World War.
Deadly Invitation - The lead character doesn’t know that a party invitation from his estranged daughter is part of a complicated plot that will put both their lives at risk.
Alice Unraveled - The heroine is a Washington State detective who must kill a friend to keep a promise she made to the only man she ever loved. When the time comes, the question isn’t if she will do it, but how she will do it.
Prairie Girls - Based on Emily Middleton’s diary of 1865, it tells the perils of her overland trip from New Orleans to Dallas with four other women and a newly freed man at the close of the Civil War.
Richard's War - The hero can not seem to find sanity until he enters the insanity of an unpopular war.
