Overview

How can you have a ghost story without a ghost? What if the ghost is only in your head? How would you know that you aren't losing your mind?

By medical standards, sixteen-year-old Janine Palmer dies on the day of her automobile accident. When her spirit travels to the "other side," however, she is told that it isn't her time to die, and is sent back to live out her life. When she awakens from her coma, though, she discovers that she hasn't come back alone. There is someone else inside her mind. The voice in Janine's head claims to be the ghost of Lenore, Janine's twin sister, who drowned twelve years earlier. Lenore blames her own death on Janine and is determined to live again in her sister's body.

Now the two girls must vie for one body. Can Janine be sure that her twin is really inside her, or is she simply going crazy?

Haunted Sister was about this 15 years old girl named Janine. At a time she had a twin sister named Lenore but she died when she was only 4 years old, due to falling and drowning in a pond. Janine happens to be the ¿good girl¿ in school and is called Lenore every time she does something bad or daring. One day Janine decided to sneak out of school with her boyfriend Scott, so she could go to the beach. On the way, they happened to have gotten in a car crash and it put her in the hospital for a while. Between that time in the hospital, she happened to have ¿died¿ and saw her sister. She came back alive and her sister ended up coming along, but only in Janine¿s head. While Janine was in the hospital for about a month, Lenore figures out how to control her. Janine finally gets out of the hospital and takes Lenore on a journey to live the real life. In my opinion, I believe this is a great book because it has some mystery to it. When you hear Lenore talking it makes you want o read more to figure out what will end up happening next. it has some great detail to how everyone feels with the accident and shows how going through the process of an accident can be emotional.

This is a FREAKY book! Really strange. Janine almost dies in a car crash, but when she comes too she discovers a strange voice inside her head. A voice that belongs to her dead sister, Lenore. Lenore is evil and wants Janine's life/body... or does she? Is she even actually there? This is a very confusing book, and although I liked it I will never read it again because it's just so confusing and strange.

Good book, but it kinda freaked me out a lil though. You never find out whether she's really being haunted by her dead twin sister or having personality problems. It made me hope something like this never happens to me. Although in the middle of the book it got a lil predictable I still would tell people it's a good read.

I actually JUST now finished reading this book. It was just in my hands. I think that this is a pretty good book. Why I don't say 'outstanding' or 'awesome' is because it was kind of confusing. I mean, the ending was kind of unexpected, and it left me feeling as if it didn't explain enough. I mean, is she Janine or is she Lenore? Do her mother and father actually understand what she means when her sister's spirit leaves her? One thing that was for sure explained was that her sister came to show Janine 'Lenore?' her true identity 'whichever one that is!!'... All in all a pretty good book... you should try to study the meaning while you are reading, it could pay off in the end!

¿Haunted Sister,¿ by Lael Littke, takes place in New York in present time, the theme or message that Lael Littke is trying to get across is that may be having a twin sister, physical or mentally, wouldn¿t be half bad. The conflict in Hunted Sister is man versus man. Janie¿s twin sister died at the age of four. Now Janie, age sixteen, gets in an automobile accident and, after nine days in a coma, she thinks her twin sister, Lenore, has come back with her and is in her head trying to take over her body and her life. Janie often finds herself having flashbacks of Lenore¿s death. Janie remembers when Lenore was drowning in the pond and running for help. By the time she got help, it was to late. Janie believes that part of the season why Lenore came back with her is to blame or to make Janie believe that it was her fault that she drowned. Chaterization is a very important part in writing a book. Janie is described as a shy, nonagressive follower and the kind of girl who blends in with the scenery: A good girl, a boring girl. On the other hand, Lenore, Janie¿s sister, is the adventurous bad girl who likes to get into trouble and be mischievous. She skips school and goes to high school parties without her parents¿ say so. The description of the girls make high school students reflect on their lives and makes them realize that maybe its not being popular and cool that is the right thing, maybe being the good girl, the boring girl will help them in the future.

This is THE BEST book I have ever read, even better than Harry Potter! This book was so good that I couldn't put it down and I finished it in 4 hours!! This is an awesome book and the thrill started in the first sentence, 'It was raning the day I died'. The book begins when the narrator dies, that was very catchy. The story is cool, dramatic, thrilling and scary all at the same time. I am really glad my friends told me to read this book.

I think it is the bestest book i've ever written. It's a kind of scary book and it starts i the first sentence. I have trouble finding books that start scary quickly and i finally found one. And it's a great cool book.

It is the book you have to read. I couldn't put it down. It is one of the books that paints a pitcure in your mind. The ending is very exciting and very surprising. I don't normally read books over the summer but I saw the title in my teacher's classroom and just had to read it. That is why you should read it.

This book is one of my all time favorites. It has a lot of mystery. I can read this book over and over and not get tired of it. The book is kind of twisted around a little bit but once you start reading it you can't put it down. It's just one of those books.
