I do calligraphy as a hobby and have been needing a pen like this for ages, so I got it. Honestly, rating it two stars is generous, as one of the nibs, it looks like a pointing finger, did not work. No big deal, I didn't need it anyway. Then I realized how cheap this product actually is. The nibs are flimsy and feel like you could easily bend them. The feather is very awkward and the feathers fly everywhere. The whole product looks like cheap plastic. The ink, on the other hand, seems to bleed and smudge everywhere, even on heavy paper. You waste a lot of it as well because of the poor nib design, with the majority of ink getting stuck in random crevices and on your hands. No instructions were present which meant there was a lot of trial and error, definitely not beginner friendly. As for the whole stamp and wax part, I can't judge since this was the first time doing it. I have a lot more negative things to say about this product but I guess you get what you pay for, $20 something dollars for a set like this is liberal.

I purchased this item not knowing that it had no instruction. I had never done calligraphy, so I thought this was a good kit to start out with. I was really confused on how to insert the nib in to the quill. But, unfortunately, the was no instruction manual. But, I can see how this would fit a younger child with the sending letters idea. But I do really with that it showed you how to insert the nib into the quill.
