J. K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Movie Magic Amazing Artifacts is Volume Three in a set of Harry Potter books looking at the eight movies, and Fantastic Beasts. I have already reviewed the first two – ‘Extraordinary People and Fascinating places‘ and ‘Curious Creatures‘. This third book looks at all the props, set decor and visual effects used to create the magical world of Harry Potter. As with the first two books, we start with Fantastic Beasts. Open the first page and you enter into a world of Newt Scamander’s Magical Case and the world beyond. From how to enter the case, to capturing the unusual animals, this book will tell you all the secrets. It will even show you around Newt’s shed and his items you will find inside. After looking through all the Fantastic Beasts props, you then get to delve into the world of Harry Potter, and of course it couldn’t start any other way than with the ‘Hogwarts Acceptance Letter’, of which there is a copy stuck in for you to open. The letter was actually hand-signed by graphic artist Miraphora Mina, who worked on the set. Each double page is dedicated to the artifacts of a particular person, place, society, or even just the artifact itself. Once again the book is filled with lift up flaps, papers to unfold, stickers to stick and at the back there is also instructions on how to make your own wand. Be careful though, some of the items are only slightly stuck down and could easily be pulled out, or ripped. This collection of books have taught me so much about the films that I didn’t know. They are truly a keepsake for any Harry Potter fan.
