It plays off as your standard tween thriller, until you get to the Imperial Academy and the recruits joke like "professional" soldiers. And Grand Moff Tarkin playing nice with kids is the scariest thing you'll read this year.

This was an epic tale of friendship that stands the test of time and turns into love despite the odds. The two viewpoints were distinct. The characters well developed on both sides of the conflict. Movie moments are naturally woven within the plot. Loved it!

THIS is the novel I was looking for in Aftermath! Gray does a better job of giving us the state of galaxy after RotJ than Windig does. While it's technically a YA novel, I would read this before Aftermath. The story is tighter and the characters are more compelling. While Iiked the interludes in Aftermath, they tended to pull me out of the story--there's no such problem here! My only wish is that Gray would continue the Aftermath trilogy rather than Windig.

Well written, interesting characters, and more depth than even Episode VII itself. Best the new series has to offer so far. Hoping for more from Claudia Gray

Lost Stars follows Thane Kyrell and Ciena Ree, childhood friends learning to become Imperial Officers just before the events of the original trilogy. But everything changes when Thane witnesses firsthand the lengths that the Empire will go to solidify its rule. Two lifelong friends now find themselves on opposites sides of a Galactic Civil War. Although this novel is a love story, and some may think that it would feel out of place, it is actually quite fantastic. The author manages to seamlessly weave Thane & Ciena's story into the events of the original trilogy and sheds new light on the Empire. It also asks alot of interesting questions about the Empire and the people who serve it. Are they actually evil, or are they just good people being deceived into working for a bad cause? I've read through all of the new Star Wars canon and Lost Stars so far is the best of the bunch. If you're a Star Wars fan this is a must read.

Don't let the 'Young Adult' moniker keep you away, this is one of the best Star Wars books to come out this year. It has the feel of the Star Wars universe that some recent publications have lacked. The 'star-crossed lovers' theme fits in perfectly with the overall universe, but I would almost hesitate to call this a 'love story.' The main plot is so carefully woven together with side themes and plotlines that it would be harsh to pigeonhole this work as a "tween romance." Ms. Gray is both a talented author and a true Star Wars fan.

This is a amazing book. What i love the most about this book is that its canon and not legend so that it counts towards the movies.

Ill give 3 stars. Excellent plot and storytelling. My only problem is the excessive amount of times Thane and Ciena make love

This book is great for any Star Wars fan or any reader in general. Not only does this book span the entire original trilogy, the novel includes the events of the Battle of Jakku, which is great for anyone who hasn't played the new Battlefront game. This book touches on many themes in love and war, and it is interesting to see the Empire's policies from the perspective of your average Imperial personnel. This book is great for any reader, not just the Star Wars fanatic. This novel is HIGHLY recommended.
