Overview

Scottie, Tay, Amanda, and Bella—an angsty artist's daughter, an indie tomboy, a trust fund princess, and a new age yoga goddess. Their friendship defies the odds, yet last year, fate (and a whole lot of yarn) bound them together. As the Chicks with Sticks, they survived it all, with the help of some yarn therapy, and knit past even the closing of their beloved local yarn store and the loss of their knitting guru, Alice. After all that trauma, they're as solid as a fisherman's sweater. Or are they? As the Chicks begin their second year together, their tight circle faces the biggest challenge yet: boys. And one hot guy in particular threatens to unravel the girls' tight bond. Can the four friends knit through this drama, or will their friendship fall apart?

Scottie's getting the whole boy thing now, but I liked the way Ms. Lenhard has the girls work through their relationships - figuring out who they are without giving up their whole selves to the boys in their lives. It's a good lesson for any woman to get at any age. I also enjoyed the way the girls hang together - even though they disagree or are sometimes less loyal than they should be, their friendship makes them stronger than they would be alone. Ms. Lenhard has some great things to say to young women.

While I really enjoyed the first Chicks book, this one was lacking. I wanted more of the Chicks working on fashion and less relationship angst. Scottie's overreaction of her first relationship was perfect though¿who hasn¿t screwed up their first romance.

I loved this book more then the first. Its got all of the lovable charactors and the rock-on knitting, but the dating and chrushes make things much more intresting. No slow patch in this one. Again, a great seris to get into.

I enjoyed this book just not quite as much as the first. I do love these girls though. I will continue reading. I feel like I know them. Nice patterns, too.

Scottie and her fellow Chicago Chicks are back and dealing with new drama in this light-hearted sequel. Poor Scottie is just plain boy-crazy. Like a sugar-aholic with ice cream in the freezer can't resist her daily dish, she just can't seem to stop crushing on every cute boy that crosses her path. As Scottie struggles with her latest boy-addiction, the cute new guy that just moved in to her building, Tay and Amanda are dealing with boyfriend issues of their own. And Bella has just plain sworn off guys -- and definitely ear nibbling. Will the Chicks close bonds survive their various guy problems?Lenhard sticks with her formula, and it seems to be working fairly well. The style is breezy and quick, and if this installment suffers some of the same loose ends as the first book, it's not a critical fault. It's definitely fluffy, popcorn with butter reading -- not very deep, but entertaining.
