I am so grateful you have decided to use this guide as part of your children’s lesson plans. As a homeschooled student, I know the effort, time, and work involved in choosing to educate your family. My parents were true pioneers in the homeschool movement. They took responsibility for educating their children before the general public even knew it was an option. I’m so grateful they were willing and committed to answering the call. And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for doing the same for your children!

The primary purpose of this book is to encourage students to reflect and put in writing thoughts, feelings, ideas, opinions, and experiences. While you may consider making some cursory adjustments to their entries (that is, if they make consistent spelling/grammar errors) or encouraging them to write more (if they need a push to hammer out more than one or two sentences), don’t judge their ideas or their writing.

Finally, journal entries should be completed within thirty minutes. And it’s best to set aside a specific day and time of the week for each lesson. Consistency is key!

I pray for God to honor your efforts, to give you strength when you’re tired, grace when you need it, and wisdom throughout the process. I pray this journal inspires your children to dig deep with God and helps them find their purpose.
A letter from TIM TEBOW

This book is focused toward pre-teens and teenagers who are faced with figuring out who they are and whose they are and the life choices they have to make. I found though, that even as an adult, there were many gems of wisdom. It is divided into 4 parts with about 8 to 10 chapters in each part. The chapters are short, Each chapter is designed for one week. The chapter opens with a Bible scripture that relates to whatever topic Tebow is focusing on. At the end of the chapter, is a section called OnYour Own where there are questions for journal your own thoughts. The topics are very well connected to concerns and choices that any teenager would meet with Biblical Based suggestions and solutions. I feel that any pre-teen or teen Christian would definitely get a great deal out of this book. ** I received this book from Waterbrook through Netgalley. All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for this review.

During my time as a youth director I used Tim Tebow’s bible study materials. They were decent videos that talked about important topics. This book follows along in that same vein. It is a book that has some stories about life and a time to think and reflect on a few important question. Topics of identity, trust, and faith come to the forefront. All truths that regardless of age or schooling matter to life The title still confuses me. The tag line of “A Home Schooler’s Interactive Guide to Discovering Your True Identity” makes it seem that a person who is/was homeschooled is writing (which is true) but the title doesn’t say this book is for homeschoolers. You find that out as you read the introduction, but after the introduction and one or two chapters in the stories stop being directed to homeschoolers and becomes a book any person can use. If you’re looking for a new devotional I encourage you to look into this book.

Know Who You Are Live Like It Matters by Tim Tebow is a 36-week devotional with one devotional weekly. It is inspirational in that it helps you to build a strong relationship with Jesus. I liked the verses at the beginning of each devotional. It has great challenging actions after each devotional that helps you think beyond and be challenged to put it into practice right away for each week. It is great for homeschooler’s but anyone can benefit from reading it. We did it individually, but you could choose to do it in a group setting if you wanted and share your insights with each other as you go.

If anyone thinks this book is *just* for home schooled children, they'd be wrong. This book is actually good for any teen, and even good for some adults to be honest. The fact the Tim Tebow was home schooled is most likely the reason behind him determining the book would be for home schooled kids. This book gives 36 helpful weekly lessons on figuring out who you are and how following the Lord can make your life better. Each lesson comes with a writing exercise to encourage the reader to think about the lesson that was provided. While I read the book in 2 days because I wasn't following the lesson plan, I would be more than willing to go back through the book and do the writing exercises. 36 weeks is equal to approximately one school year, so parents can use this book during their curriculum if they home school or just as a weekly study for their kids in general. I think this book is an excellent tool for helping kids find their faith and figure out who they are in Christ. I also think that new Christians might benefit from this book, even though it is geared towards teens. It can be hard to figure out who you are in Christ at any age, especially if you've grown up in a family where faith is not a big part of your life. Tim gives good, solid accounts of when he was a child/teen and how situations were handled. He admits he made and makes mistakes, something that it is good for anyone to see - that nobody is perfect. This was a solid 4 star read and I have to say, I'll probably be going back through the book and doing the writing exercises for myself. **I received this book from WaterBrook via Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.**
