This is such an amazing coloring book. I've used different mediums; soft pastels, color pencils, inktense pencils for water coloring, staedtlers and stabilo 88. The paper is of great quality and take on the colors very well! The inktense did not bleed through when activated.

Very nice coloring book. Interesting but common designs. Three stars due to: One huge negative with this authors books are that the images are on both sides of each page of the book. This feature does not allow for framing both colored pages. Additional negative is that the book is bound with no perforation for easy removal of the pages. I don't know many people who color a page while it is inside the book.

Great coloring book. I have the first coloring book this author made and I love it. I have the enchanted forest in the post cards so I thought that I would try the lost ocean book. When I got it I liked the covering better. The inside cover can be colored with colored pencils which is nice because the secret garden's can't. Another thing that I also like about the Lost Ocean is that there aren't any finish the page or any draw in pages. I like to color but I am not an artist so just being able to color in this book is great.

Lost Ocean is an absolutely beautiful adult colouring book. If you like underwater scenes, you will probably enjoy this book. Basford is an wonderful artist and her pictures are full of incredible detail. In fact, if you are going to colour this book, make sure you have a good pencil sharpener (and maybe some reading glasses?). Some pages are mandala-like, others are scenes, and there are a few less detailed pages. However, each page would easily take hours to colour in. Even though this book is clearly aimed at adults, my 10 year old daughter has enjoyed colouring in it as well, but she is a patient sort of child. She loves the imagination in the pictures and searching for the hidden pictures in each page. The pages themselves are thick and can even stand up to colouring with a sharpie marker without bleeding through. It would be better if the book could lay open flat as many of the pictures span both pages and it is difficult to colour in the binding. If you are looking for a book to take advantage of the meditative aspects of colouring and love the ocean, this is a great one.
