About 10 years ago I bought the import Mystery Train collection that covered Neil Young's recordings on Geffen. I finally decided to buy Lucky Thirteen, Neil's official retrospective of his much maligned 80s adventures. Apparently this was part of the settlement of Young's infamous legal battle with the company. I don't think it is a bad as some critics claim. The country numbers seem rather lame but I like his electronic and electric songs. Mideast Vacation still has relevance and, if Neil had included Like An Inca off Trans, I might give this 4 stars. Now that he is releasing material from tours during that period (A Treasure, Bluenote Cafe) it may be time to re-evaluate this era in NY's career.
