There's danger in the beauty...

Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero- not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.

But he did. And I was done waiting.

Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

It's been a couple of years since the events that occured in Seductions Kiss.  Daisy hasn't stopped thinking about her winged hero or the events that occured 2-1/2 years ago.  Now she finds herself back in New Orleans, determined to find Owen once again.  While there, she runs into and is befriended by some extraordinary and very intriguing paranormals, called Allures.  Daisy soon finds herserslf in a whirlwind of a journey with these mystical beings who have agreed to help her in her quest to find Owen, but there is also much more going on that she isn't aware of, and that is the disturbing part.  When Daisy and Owen finally find each other, could it be to lose each other all over again? I very much enjoyed Seductions Kiss and couldn't wait to read Lure.  While Lure is definitley intriguing, it wasn't quite as exciting as I had hoped it would be, especially in light of what happened in Seductions Kiss.  Much of the story, to me, was more like laying groundwork for what was yet to come and was kind of hard to get into, seeming a  a little drawn out through the middle of the book.  That said, it was good, and ended on a note that leaves you anxious to see what will happen next.  I definitely will be reading the next installment and look forward to seeing where Alyssa Rose Ivy will taken Owen and Daisy on the next leg of their journey.

I wasn't sure what the Allures were at first, but as I learned more about them they intrigued me. I kinda knew what was going on with Daisy, but I didn't really know what it meant for her until closer to the end, when we get thrown some small surprises. It looks like Owen and Daisy have a long road ahead of them, and I can't wait to read more about their journey. The ARC of Lure by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

I was so excited when Alyssa Rose Ivy's Lure showed up on my kindle! I have been wondering what Owen and Daisy have been up to. And this first book in The Allure Chronicles did not disappoint! Daisy has spent her college years since meeting Owen in NOLA being told she was crazy by family, friends and therapists. She was told that Owen didn't exist and the events of that fateful Halloween night never happened. She held off for two years, six months, and twenty-five days seeking solace and like minded people online in Paranormal Obsessed, an online forum where people chatted about paranormal creatures. As soon as she graduated she headed straight for NOLA using a job interview as a guise to find Owen, her winged hero, the man who saved her and changed her life with a scorching kiss that will forever be seared into her memory. When Daisy gets to New Orleans will it be as she remembers? Will Owen be there waiting for her? Or will some other magical, Paranormal beings be there? Ahhh...Alyssa Rose Ivy lured me into this tale of paranormal life. Her depictions of the characters and their interactions had me captivated the entire time. I absolutely love how different each one is. It gives the book so much more depth. I also like that we discover information about the different paranormal creatures that Daisy encounters as she does. So while my curiosity was burning I appreciated the slow tease of information. It left me yearning for more. Swiping the pages faster and faster. And cursing the doctors as they interrupted my reading (really they couldn't have kept me waiting just a smidge longer!!) Just as in thee prequel I was enchanted by Lure and immediately drawn into the story. I definitely recommend Lure. But I do also recommend, that you snatch up Seduction's Kiss (the prequel) to get Owen & Daisy's back-story. It is a quick read that sets the stage for Lure perfectly. (It is also FREE everywhere ;) )  I received a complimentary copy, in exchange for an honest review.

Before you read Lure, I suggest that you read the free novella Seductions Kiss first. This novella gives you the very beginning of the story that you get in Lure. The story before the story sort of read. Seductions Kiss is free on all platforms and is a fairly quick read. Ok, now on to Lure. We get an introduction into the paranormal world that Ms. Ivy has created. The different kinds of paranormals and the different places they hold within the world. Over all if feels like we don't learn that much at all, and with this being a series I am thinking that the amount of information that the author plans to give through out the series is a little bit at a time. It's not until the end that you really know what is happening. That sort of made me a bit crazy, the information that the Allures have and the very little that they are willing to actually give Daisy was frustrating. They are constantly teasing little bits of information and then refusing to actually say anything useful when Daisy asks for clarification. I also wanted Daisy to woman up a bit and demand to know a little bit more rather then being such a victim to the entire situation. The first 80% of the book is a bit slow. Not a whole lot happens besides Daisy trying to get to Owen and the little bits of information that the Allures are constantly teasing Daisy with. It's not until you get to the last 20% of the book do things really start to happen. Things are revealed and a story that is worth catching your attention starts to form. The problem, is that just when it starts to pull you in, it's ending. While it is the kind of cliff hanger that gives closer on this portion of the story, there is still sooo much more left to be told. Book 2 of this series has some potential to be really good.

Actual Rating: 4.5 Stars What a great start to this series! Lure picks up about 2 years after Seduction's Kiss left off. Daisy has been searching for Owen since they were separated. Her friends have no memory of what happen in New Orleans 2 years ago. She's tried to explain what happened, but no one believes her. She's even suffered through counseling to prove that she hasn't lost her mind. Just days after Daisy has finished with college, she leaves her normal, mundane life and heads off to New Orleans. Using the guise of going to New Orleans for a job interview, Daisy plans to retrace her steps from 2 years ago and hopes to get some answers. Only a lot of time has passed. The people she once encountered are no longer there, she's still dealing with the effects of seduction's kiss and her life is about to get crazier. She thought dealing with vampires was bad, but she hasn't met the Allures yet. The Allures are beautiful, but manipulative creatures and I'm not sure what their true motives are. To make matters worse, Owen is no where to be found. Will Daisy be able to find Owen again? Will the Allures prove to be trustworthy or just another paranormal creature set out to get Daisy? I want to try to keep this review as spoiler free as possible, so here it goes. I loved Lure! Even though this book takes place 2 years after Seduction's Kiss, it feels as though no time has passed. I am once again captivated by the world and mystery that Alyssa Rose Ivy has created. I'm on the edge of my seat wondering where the story will go next. We are introduced to some new supernatural beings in this book. The Allures captivated me from the moment that we are first introduced to them. Their supernatural powers are pretty cool, but their motives are still questionable... Owen and Daisy do not disappoint. Even though they have been separated for a few years, it's as though nothing has changed for them. Their pull to one another is stronger than ever and this time, Owen is more determined to not loose Daisy.  Lure is the first book in this exciting new series by Alyssa Rose Ivy. It has great paranormal aspects, romance, suspense, and twists. You will be on the edge of your seat until the very end. Just to warn you, this book does end with a bit of a cliffhanger. I have a lot of questions and hope that we will find some answers in the next book! I am really excited to see what will happen next and what craziness will await us in book 2! *I was provided with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Two Years after having her life upended by a series of terrifying events, a brush with death, her rescue, and subsequent years spent in therapy while everyone around her thinks she is crazy, Daisy returns to New Orleans determined to find the 'man' she can't get out of her head. This book is a bit difficult to review there are a lot of twists and turns moving the plot along and it is difficult not to give anything away. Let's begin with talking about Daisy. I am of two minds about this heroine. I love her initiative, I love that she has never given up on finding Owen even though no one believed her, knowing that her mother wanted to have her institutionalized. I love her sarcastic nature and her willingness to do what it takes to get what she wants. On that note, sometimes I think that girl has no sense what so every, haha. She walked into so many situations where the rest of the world would have given a big old *heck* no and turned running. Of course in the back of your mind you know she HAS to make these decisions to get where she is going, but man girl, if that had been me I'd have been murdered by some crazy by now. Thankfully she isn't me and she doesn't always take her gut instinct and run with it or we wouldn't have been introduced to Violet, Hugh, and Roland. Three paranormal beings thought to have left earth hundreds of years ago. Beings with such amazing gifts that they are both revered and feared by the rest of the paranormal community, Allures. I don't want to get into exactly what a Allure is because that will take away one of the main plots of the book, but they are pretty awesome although very aloof and evasive with their information. I have to say that is the one thing that got to me most is how no one would tell Daisy anything. You just want to yell at them to just tell her the reader we may not see the whole picture but you know the underlying pieces and to have them held from the main character makes you want to smack people around, haha. It is going to be incredibly interesting to see how this all plays out in the series, will the Allures help or hurt Daisy, what will become of them all? I can't leave off with out talking about Owen. I love Owen. He is an amazing character with so much heart and soul. You expect that he is going to be this entitled jerk of a guy knowing that he is the Kinds Adviser but instead he is a bit of a loner, a calm, caring presence who in the whole scheme of things just wants to be loved and love in return. I can't get enough of his character and especially his character with Daisy. I missed them not having a huge part together in this book, but once they were together the story just exploded for me. Up until then it felt more like a nice simmer and then boom, there it is all action, steam, romance, fear, love....everything. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series, Alyssa leaves us all anxious and eager for more. Before you start Lure I do suggest you grab up a copy of the Prequel Novella, Seduction's Kiss to get the background story and like me who hasn't read the Cresent Chronicles (The Allue Chronicles is a spin off from that series) I think you will be running out to add those books to your TBR, I definitely want to see the world Owen comes from (there are little things said in Lure, that having read those books will help you to understand) and well just to get more Owen! If you like Paranormal New Adult reads that come with a nice guy, a determined girl, and a lot of twists and turns you will enjoy this series!

Lure (The Allure Chronicles #1) by Alyssa Rose Ivy Over two years ago Daisy Wolford was rescued from vampires by Owen, a paranormal being with black wings.  They shared a kiss that ruined her for other, leaving her unable to stop thinking about him.  Now she is returning to New Orleans to seek Owen out. Lure was a remarkable book filled with action and suspense. I enjoyed Daisy’s character.  I respected that she sought Owen out after so many years, although no one believed her.  I felt for her having to undergo the effects of Seduction’s Kiss, a magical paste a witch put on her, causing her to undergo changes.  The Allures are an interesting species.  I enjoyed learning about them and their characteristics.  Violet, Hugh, and Roland are an amusing trio that kept the story entertaining and unpredictable. I really like Owen.  Despite being the advisor to the king he is down to earth and uncertain of his worth.  He has a great personality and good heart.   Lure has an excellent plot that kept me engaged.  The story is well-written and creative. The ending left me anxiously anticipating the next book.  I cannot wait to see obstacles Daisy and Owen have to overcome.
