This book changed my life! If I ever get off the 'exercise beam'...I pick the book up and re-read it. I know that all I need to stay in shape (physically, mentally & spiritually) is a good pair of sneakers and 30 minutes. By merely walking I can have more peace & happiness in my life than any material item ever gave me. Also, I always hear people say 'if I had money to hire a trainer & a chef, then I could lose weight too', well to those people I say there are many wealthy people who are overweight. Although it would be nice to have those things, it is not a requirement. The only requirement is willingness, a pair of sneakers & 30 minutes. Thanks Bob Green, your book really did change my life. I am not a huge fan of Oprah. I purchased this book because it was on sale. It was the best purchase I could have made. Bob Greene's advice is right on. I have read the book several times, some chapters more than other for guidance and to help remind myself what my goals are. The ten steps are clear and precise and there is no confusion. Through simple diet and exercise, you CAN lose weight and keep it off! After reading the book and following his advice I have lost 50+ pounds and have kept it off for over a year now.
With this book I was able to look inside myself and discover the real reasons for my weight gain and why I wasn't able to lose despite fervent effort. Getting advice, instruction, and motivation from Bob and Oprah have helped me learn to love me as I am today...so that I may move forward and achieve my goals. The journal is a great way to get to know yourself and keep tabs on your progress. Most of all, this book is about loving yourself and becoming healthy, because as you do that by following the ten steps as closely as possible you will get the added bonus of a great body.
