If you are looking for an inspirational, true-life hero to introduce your children to, Amelia Earhart is definitely a good choice! For girls, Amelia played a big role in proving to all of humanity that girls are just as smart and just as capable as boys are.

"Meet Amelia Earhart" was written for children age 8 and up (Grade 3 & up). With many colorful illustrations, this biography focuses on how Amelia Earhart shows us all how seemingly unreachable “dreams” can be accomplished if you are willing to keep working hard until you reach whatever goal you have set in front of you.

Amelia Earhart was the first woman to ever fly an airplane across the Atlantic ocean. She disappeared doing something even more courageous – attempting to be the first woman to fly around the world. For boys, this is a great way to teach them that girls add just as much value to the world as boys do. Both boys and girls can learn the value of respecting each other for hard work and determination and that gender has little to do with whether or not one is successful in life.

When it comes to books for kids, this was one of my personal favorites. Even though my daughter is a little bit younger than the minimum age listed of eight years old, she was very interested in learning about Amelia Earhart. I love this book for my daughter, because it teaches her that girls can grow up to do great things in life. My daughter enjoyed the pictures and the story behind Amelia, especially when we were talking about the last flight, and how she was supposed to be flying around the world. We also talked about the disappearance, and now she is interested in finding out more about Amelia. This is a great book to teach girls about a historic and wonderful role model.

This book tells the story of the amazing Amelia Earhart and is a great resource for kids and preteens to learn an interesting part of history. It is well-written and at a level that will pique the interest of the young reader. Even the adult reader will likely learn new information about Ms. Earhart they did not previously know.

My youngest son is nine and suddenly very interested in transportation of all mean- planes, trains, cars, ships- you name it. So I purchased several books to scratch this itch, including this one about Amelia Earhart. Though I know the basic story, I found this book rather well done and it definitely peaked my son's interest in exploration and the like. The pictures are engaging and relevant and launched some other conversations too, which I alway like. It is also just about the right length for a child of this age. Overall we were impressed by this one and was one of the stronger ones in the bunch I purchased. Though lost on my son, it also presents Ms. Earhart as not just a visionary person, but a visionary woman.

This book on Amelia Earhart brought a good feeling to my heart. I did not realize that Amelia was a nurse, medical student, social worker, and fashion designer. The difficulties her mother and father had would have led a lot of children down the wrong path, but apparently only made Amelia stronger and yes, more determined. The world is a better place because of this amazing woman. Initially purchased the book for my two granddaughters, but loved it myself.

This book takes a wonderful story of the famed female pilot and creates a simple yet impacting tale for children. The pictures are wonderful and help convey certain aspects of the story that will allow for children to follow along easily. The story itself portrays the historic and inspirational narrative of Amelia's childhood and adult life all the way up to her disappearance. Great for young girls and boys this tale of aviation and adventure will capture the imagination and whimsy in kids and adults alike.
