I love James Patersons books. They are so funny and when I am feeling down I just grab one of his books off of my bookshelf and start to read. These boojs really cheer me up when I am in trouble. They also give you advice on how to survive middle school.

First of all, I would like to say that I am an adult reader who is a big fan of James Patterson. I recently had an accident where I broke my arm badly that resulted in becoming very depressed at life in general. So I wanted to find something more lighthearted to read to pick up my spirits. The Middle School series did the trick, although there are some serious issues that are addressed in these books. One thing that surprised me is the way the school administers show a complete lack of compassion and understanding of middle school children. They act like they hate kids. For example, when Rafe took on the big problem of school bullying, he did it in a very imaginative and effective way. His reward for this was 8 detentions. In fact, throughout the series, he always gets detentions that I feel he did not deserve. Oh, one more thing. The painting American Gothic depicted a farmer and his DAUGHTER, not his wife.
