I was really excited to get a look at this Bible since my son has enjoyed Minecraft in the past with his friends and is looking forward to getting a game of his own one day. When he got a look at it, he was so excited. He thought it was the coolest Bible, and said I should let him have it, because he wanted to use it with his Minecraft games. This is a full Bible text written in a version children can read easily and understand. Along with the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation, it also includes many full color illustration pages incorporating Bible stories and the game. For instance on the page with Noah's ark, there is a suggestion to build and ark on your game. Each illustrational page is double sided with a devotional, a Scripture passage, and a "what to do section" on each side. The "what to do section" suggests something to do on the game that relates to the passage and the devotional. Such as, Planting Seeds - the parable of the sower, and recommended growing seeds on your game, choosing the right soil, and taking care of the plants. This Bible is hard cover, has a dictionary at the end, and a page with some great Bible stories. I am pretty sure a child interested in mine craft would love this Bible and hopefully it would encourage him/her to use the game in a productive and educational manner as well as grow them spiritually in the process. I received this Bible from BookLook and Thomas Nelson in exchange for my honest opinion.

The NIrV “Minecrafters Bible” was sent to me by Zonderkidz - a division of Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest review. “The Minecrafters Bible” uses the New International Reader’s Version. It has a dictionary in the back…along with an index of 92 “Great Bible Stories’. I also like that, scattered throughout are 24 full-color illustrations, done by Hannah Weinstein. Each one has a, “What to Read” section, which is a few verses to read and study. There is also a, “What to Do” section, which includes an activity. An example…make you own Tabernacle. Another one… Build an animal pen with sheep. These are all part of a journey/game to encourage reading and studying of the Word. I like this and would recommend it.

The newly published NIrV Minecrafters Bible, Hardcover edition, Published by Zondervan Contains is the perfect bible for school aged boys and teenagers. Featuring 24 full color pages of unofficial Minecraft themed bible comic strips, this bible is impressive. I gave this bible to my 10 year old. He was instantly impressed and without a doubt found it to be a cool bible. The beautifully designed cartoon inserts feature bible highlights with the characteristic Minecraft block action figures and the box like background. This bible is beautiful in its design and the integration of Minecraft into the cartoon inserts is simulates the video game. The bible text itself is a standard small sized black and white font. The modern NIrV is easy to read and understand, but the pages of small text might not be inviting for younger readers, Nevertheless, the vivid and original color inserts featuring Minecraft styled bible characters will certainly draw in all Minecraft fans. I can not imagine a better outreach method for gaming fans. This is a great bible and is the must have bible for any Minecraft fan. As a blogger for Booklook, I received a copy of this bible for the purpose of writing this review.

If you have a Minecrafter in your midst you need this Bible! I must admit that when my grandson first introduced me to Minecraft I just didn't get the appeal of the squared-off pixelated characters. Then I got my hands on a copy of the NIrV Minecrafters Bible and a lightbulb went on! I love finding creative ways to pour the Bible into my kids and grands. Who knew a video game could be used for that? To me the Minecrafters Bible is the ultimate accessory for this game. To help get you started using the Bible in conjuction with the game there are twenty-two full color pages with Scripture passages to read and suggested things to do. After your kiddo has gone through those there's an even longer list of great Bible stories at the very back of the book. My daughter has been using the Minecrafters Bible each morning by reading a particular story with my grandson and then allowing him some extended time to recreate that day's story. It's been such a delight to see him continually refer back to the Bible as he adds details to his world. If you are a homeschooling family this would be a wonderful addition to your Bible curriculum. I can also see it being used in youth groups on special event nights. My grandson's friends already get together informally to play Minecraft so I think it would be an easy way to engage the culture while instilling truth in the lives of the next generation. I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
