Linkin Park's debut sounded tense, nervous, and wiry -- rap-rock without the maliciousness that pulsed through Limp Bizkit. But it had been a full seven years between Hybrid Theory and Minutes to Midnight, and many fans who were getting their driver's licenses in 2000 were now leaving college and, along with it, adolescent angst. So Linkin Park jumped headfirst into maturity on Minutes to Midnight, which doesn't really rock, it broods. Still, the band demonstrates the chops they need to rock, and sound comfortable doing it.

This is a good album but its not what I personlly loved about Linkin Park. Most of this is to blame on the fact that they gave way to much thought into what Rick Ruben had to say (acting as there producer) this time around. I remember on the Fort Minor cd how Mike was talking about how the record execs wanted them to just be a "normal" rock and and they refused to sell out..... Loan and behold! LOL. 2 years later guess what. THEY SOLD OUT! Compleatly turning there back on there real fan baseand going even more for the masses with there "new" sound... Give me a break. Now like I said its not a bad cd but I cant recomend this to any real LP fan its just a major disappointment. Besides maybe if we dont buy it they might realized they messed up.

Well after realizing what I was missing from not listening to Linkin Park I started listening to them two months ago. After buying all three of their previous albums I fell in love with the band and was looking forward to this album. Once I got it however I was severely disapointed. Their previous albums like meteora just had something new about them which Minutes to Midnight doesn't. There isn't any character to the music on this album, and listening to it there wasn't that rapcore sound which i'm so used to getting from Linkin Park. For me I would much rather take the album back and listen to Meteora or Hybrid theory over again.

I'm not the biggest fan of Linkin Park by any means but this cd is nothing compared to the last cd.Meteora was by far the best cd in my opinion but i'm more of a Metal/Rocker dude and this is no where near Rock. These bands make u wait too long then release crap. All they care about is money not about their fans being happy.Don't buy this cd unless u like wasting money.I didn't buy it and i won't.Linkin Park is starting to fade away just watch and see.

I love the new sound. It shows that the band has grown. If they keep making music that sound the same it will show no growth. For all of the people complaining that the cd sucks stop whining and listen to something else like beyonce's crap.

First of all, I was blown away that they had a parental ad. on this one. I was mad before I had ever heard the cd! One of the reasons I liked listening to them was that I didn't have to hear all the crap that the other genre's had to give. Reading in the liner notes, they talk about looking into finding another sound but not having to sacrifice their "personality". What a load! It really does sound like they just threw together some songs. Come on, the first opening song sounds like I'm listening to Coldplay. But I'm one of those people to say that I hate something and then later realize that I really do like the album for what it is. Just listen to this album and don't think about it as being Linkin Park. But there's the rub: you're still waiting for a new album from LP.

Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands, but I would say that this album is my second favorte of theirs behind Hybrid Theory. I really do like this album. Meteora wasn't bad but it was TOO similar to Hybrid Theory. Meteora had some great "mosh" songs on their with chester squeeling and screaming, but it just seemed like a "b" side of Hybrid. This on the other hand is something pretty different. I think Mike got worn out with Fort Minor with all the frantic hiphop, and the band figured it showed diversify itself. If you think about it, these songs strung inbetween their previous works at a live concert makes for a much more balanced performance. The songs themselves do grow on you, particularly the second half of the album. Of course I wish linkin park could have witten these tracks in a shorter period of time, but I guess thats just something we're all going to have to listen to. 1- intro track 2- good song with a very punk sound and pace (8/10) 3- likely to be their next single (7/10) 4- a fun track, but it gets old really fast and the chorus is kind of dumb (6/10) 5- probably my least favorite, slow and kind of stagnent (4/10) 6- their first single, very similar to numb but more repetitve but with better vocals (7/10) 7- i like this track even though i don't agree with the political message (8/10) 8- Hardest sound of the album on this track (8/10) 9- my second favorite track, really grows on you (10/10) 10- Shinoda singing?!?!? sure why not. not much range or vocal strength, so this song suits him. a simple but important track for this album. (9/10) 11- chester sings about being divorced, but he doesn't sing with any more conviction than on the other tracks. ok but is a good setup for the last song (7/10) 12- Wow....Wow.....thats all I can say. Already the longest song they've ever made, I can only wish that this song never ended 10/10

Who cares if this isn't the old Linkin Park. Yes the songs might be slow, like "Hands Held High", but the best songs are alot of the slow songs. You just need to listen and get the message they are sending.

This album in my eyes is not as good as the others but the messages in some of their new songs like WHAT IVE DONE and THE LITTLE THINGS GIVE YOU AWAY have a really meaning full messages in there.I believe these songs are their views on what is going on today in the world.NO MORE SORROW and BLEED IT OUT are some more awesome songs.

If you are exclusively a metal-head, you can skip this one. If you want something that sounds like "Hybrid Theory," just listen to "Hybrid Theory" again. For the rest of us, this is a very nice album with some beautiful raps and a good variety of sounds. There are one or two places where it sounds like LP might be listening to a little too much U2, but overall it's still very good. "Hands Held High" is a major departure from what LP has done in the past, but it's a very elegant song. "Bleed It Out" is just plain awesome, no two ways about it. "What I've Done" is classic LP and a great song.

In my opinion Linkin Park totally rules, but I would say that they lost their touch in this album and the only great songs, in my opinion are "What I've Done, No More Sorrow, and Given Up." Some other songs are good to but not what I'd expect from Linkin Park. I would say that Meteora was their best album and Hybird Theory was their second best and this ranks third place. In my opinion, the best songs that they ever made is "Faint" (from Meteora) "Figure .09" (Meteora) "From the Inside" (from Meteora) and "What I've Done' (from Minutes to Midnight.) They had a lot of other terrific songs I just can't name them all. I think that you can find all these songs on YouTube or someplace else and you won't have to buy the album. I recomand listening to these songs but I don't really advise buying them. Also try finding "Meteora" and "Hybird Theory," because they are really great.

Not exactly the same as their other albums. It's a nice mix of some harder stuff with more introspective songs. Every song on this album is good some are amazing.

I happen to love their "new" sound. It's actually more like their early stuff, and I love it. There is still some rap, but mostly it's chester's great voice. He really shows it off on this album. I am a fan of LP and I love this new CD.

Linkin Parkstreet Boys is definitely appropriate. This is an embarrassing CD. I feel like I'm still waiting for LP to release an album. Or maybe not -- these guys should have quit after Meteora.

This definately wasn't what I expected for Linkin Park... It was much better. There wasn't one song that I didn't like, and the music was awsome! Way to go you guys!

What ever happened to song like Numb, Faint, Somewhere I belong, or In the End? These new songs...they just aren't LP. And if I had heard In Bewteen on the radio, I would have NEVER guessed it was Linkin Park. I don't know whose making them change, but whoever it is should be hit by a speeding train, set on fire, thrown over a cliff, and land of a huge pile of axes, because this kind of stuff does NOT work for this band. I miss their old image, I hope thye change back =[

I wasn't expecting this type of music when I bought the CD. I usually love every song on their albums but with this one I only like two, which is What I've Done and Leave Out All The Rest. I'm very disappointed I wasted my money on this.

This is the first Linkin Park cd that I've bought and I have no complaint's. I really like it and I can listen to it over & over. So I'm not comparing it to their old stuff because I never listened to their old stuff. So if your a true fan you should respect their work.
